War Rages, Terror Attacks on U.S. Soil, Michelle Obama Stars in Rap Video

There is a certain level of seriousness oddly absent from the white house.

It looks like the President and his wife very much enjoy the splendour of the oval office.

Not everyone should go to college. But if you do Go to college, get a loan, graduate, come home to live with parents and stare at wet paint. Just delay the idleness for 4 years. Don’t pick a shitty major. And look at a junior college first.

This is a commercial for student loans, which rake in about $50 bill in profits annually for the government. Gotta keep the chow flowing.

Oh my. Encouraging students who should not be going to college to spend another 4+ years partying while trying to earn a degree in something they can’t earn a living at (like liberal arts or social work) and accumulating massive debt, yeah, that’s what the students need.

You’re criticizing her for encouraging students to go to college? You have a picture of Justice Scalia on the your wall? Even a degree from a mediocre community college increases one’s chances of getting a decent first job.

Raul.. more around 12 billion annually according to Forbes but still a nice chunk of change.

College only increases chances of getting a decent job if and only if (1) you graduate and (2) your major is in something that an employer would be looking for. SO – if you have a degree in (for example) women’s studies, well, you’re just wasting time and money. It won’t get you anywhere in the job market AND you will still have student loans to pay back. Basically the same thing goes for liberal arts, fine arts (except for the favored few), black studies (seriously? That’s a degree program??) and any other made up degree program.

The students who get degrees in early childhood education, sociology, and similar programs designed to train them for low paying, pretty much dead end jobs are also, imho, wasting a lot of money and time to get an income they could have gotten 4 (oh, my kids inform me that 5 years for a bachelor’s degree is the new 4 year degree program) years earlier by going to work as an entry level person in pretty much anything but fast food.

I’ve long held these 2 are the Hollywood social-media Presidential couple. They always seem to care more about showing up on SNL or Late Night – her having a wardrobe as if she’s some runway model. This is hopefully the pendulum reaching as far as it can in one direction before it heads back to center – we could really use a POTUS that speaks frankly, isn’t afraid to point while talking instead of that polished politician gesturing, and will actually eat the Thanksgiving turkey instead of pardoning it (it’s only going to die under its own weight anyway).

Lastly, when has an advert / positive rap video ever worked for anyone? The mid-80’s Bears maybe (Superbowl shuffle anyone?)

Gosh, what a horrible presidential couple. Making a less than wonderful music video. I guess you people sorely miss the days of G W Bush when everything that emanated from the White House was perfect.
