Kremlin to Turkey: “Russian planes should never be shot down”

Putin’s spokesman is upping the rhetoric today, casting aspersions and chastising the Turks for their “traitorous” behavior.

“Nobody has the right to traitorously shoot down a Russian plane from behind,” Peskov told Russia’s “News on Saturday” TV programme, calling Turkish evidence purporting to show the Russian SU-24 jet had violated Turkish air space “cartoons”.

“The president is mobilised, fully mobilised, mobilised to the extent that circumstances demand,” said Peskov.

“The circumstances are unprecedented. The gauntlet thrown down to Russia is unprecedented. So naturally the reaction is in line with this threat.”

He then added an important note to the dialogue, regarding Edrogan’s interest in ISIS controlled oil, why they buy it from them, and perhaps providing the sane people of the world with a motive for doing so.

Peskov, according to the TASS news agency, also spoke of how Erdogan’s son had a “certain interest” in the oil industry. Putin has said oil from Syrian territory controlled by Islamic State militants is finding its way to Turkey.

NATO should cut Turkey loose from its alliance. But they won’t, since for some reason, our interests are aligned with theirs.

Fuckery.

Update: The Kremlin announces a wide swath of sanctions against the bedlamites in Turkey.

President Vladimir Putin signed a decree imposing a raft of punitive economic sanctions against Turkey on Saturday, underlining the depth of the Kremlin’s anger toward Ankara four days after Turkey shot down a Russian warplane.
The decree, which entered into force immediately, said charter flights from Russia to Turkey would be banned, that tour firms would be told not to sell any holidays there, and that unspecified Turkish imports would be outlawed, and Turkish firms and nationals have their economic activities halted or curbed.

None of us knows who, if anyone, is telling the truth in situations involving the Middle East. In fact it seems that our government officials don’t know either. Putin himself is said to be interested in Assad-controlled oil, so he supports Assad, who has killed far more Syrians than ISIS has, sometimes doing it with chemical weapons.

Candidates like Trump love to pretend that they understand complex international situations. When asked specific questions, Trump shows himself to be as clueless as anyone.

We like to put white hats on somebody– and pronounce them to be the Good Guys. And then we want to give them weapons and help them to fight against the Evil Guys with the black hats. But in a place where everyone seems to be slaughtering everyone else who is from some different religious sect or ethnic group– and then lying about it, in order to get weapons from outside powers– the only good guys may be the refugees.

It makes perfect sense to flee and try to llok for sanity and a place where they can live in peace. Since the wars in the Middle East seem to go on forever, and do not seem to ever solve the problems, it is quite reasonable to flee. Why fight and die for nothing–without any good result coming out of it?

For those who don’t know it already, Steve Jobs’ biological father was a Syrian refugee.

Most of what’s in front of us is scripted, & steered. Conspiracy-watchers who at this point are only trying to tell history in the present knew Syria was a vital Russian ally with the port and trade and oil, and Obama’s desire to get into Syria (which started 2.5 years ago) seemed to have a or some ulterior motive, possibly proxy war or ww3 kindling which we said, and are becoming more and more right with. Obama (&company) used the opposition against Assad as their reason (whether they really cared about ousting Assad that may now be in question) i.e. ya, ya, Isis and there u go. Not that complicated they are fooling you with their gameplan as you ruminate why what hm why who

I do agree with the ideas of progressive thinkers, who are the best hope for our country’s foreign policy in the future, then, even if you want to call these “talking points”, maybe I won’t consider it an insult.

I don’t have to have original ideas about foreign policy. If I research an issue and find out what the truth is, and if there’s a reasonable course of action that can flow from that truth, it’s fine by me if someone else said it first.

If you see a better alternative than continuing to do what we did with the 2 past Iraq wars, which wasted lives and money, and accomplished nothing, then say what that alternative is.

The alternative is simple just leave. Obviously that will never happen. Everything is about money. Before preaching the progressive line. Look into how women are treated in the ME. Do you want that insanity here? Trash bags as dresses always walking behind the man.

NATO is a relic of the post-WW2 Cold War years and the admission of Turkey was part of the Truman Doctrine of supporting states that were under threat from Russia. This was probably a bad idea but at the time Turkey appeared to be our bridge to the Islamic world and our only ally in that world. (It could be worse. Thank god, Pakistan was never admitted to NATO.) Turkey will never be kicked out of NATO short of a direct attack on the U.S. homeland.

The new global threat is Islamic terrorism. The old NATO structure is an anachronism. Russia has turned from great power enemy to great power ally. Read some goddam Kissinger. What we need to hope for is lots of retirements in the State Dept. and Pentagon so we can get on with recognizing the new reality.

Putin is a narcisstic scumbag who is content with turning Russia into a Third World Country. Edrogan is a slimy scumbag who is doing everything he can turn a wonderful secular Turkey into another failed Muslim state. The two leaders should meet in person and in a spectacular demonstration of patriotism shoot each other in the head.

just as the war-mongering military-industrial complex/cia almost led this world into annihilation during the Cuban missile crisis which was diffused through secret letters between Kennedy & Khrushchev, Obama needs to do the same with his Russian counterpart but I doubt Obama possesses the balls for it. He is afraid of being Kennedy’d and Lincoln’d.

Most oil is smuggled into Turkey in 25 liter jerrycans. The “tankers” are small trucks that mainly smuggle oil into US ally Iraq. http://ig.ft.com/sites/2015/isis-oil/ Since the Turks control the Bosphorus, Russia won’t do anything real.
