10/07/11 – Delaware City, DE – Refinery.restart – Tony James, president and COO of Blackstone, speaks to guests and employees at the announcement of Delaware City Refinery reopening event. PBF Holding Company LLC and Delaware City Refining Company LLC today announced the successful restart of the Delaware City petroleum refinery which was closed down by previous owners in 2009. Delaware City Refinery had rehired nearly 500 employees and up to 250 contractors. Friday, Oct. 7, 2011.
