With the anti-GMO craze going on.. WFM is poised to become even more popular as people pay thru the nose for organically grown, non-GMO, ethically raised, corn. Probably a very good 12+ month move on your part. But you know this. I just wanted to type and exercise my fingers.
Regardless of this quarter, WFM is a cash cow. Lots of free cash flow and the multiple isn’t expensive, based off 10 yr history.
Not that it matters to your one week momentum timeframe but WFM same store sales growth has been decelerating for years
Plus they’re the only grocery store in my town with a bar in the middle of the floor serving a multitude of crafted beers. It’s about to get REAL hot out here in the West…
I’ve been really into GMO food lately
I bought some frsh. And then my girl just ordered a pizza.
Buffett see no happy faces in Whole Foods, and neither do I.
What with other stores jumping on the organic, non GMO, sugar free, no high fucktose craze, WFM will start to lose market share to the likes of Fresh Market, Sprouts, and all the other big box grocers who will undercut WFM to gain market share. An Organic tomato from Walmart is no different than one from Whole Foods, albeit the price, and pricing is everything.
However, I see WFM expanding into the lower 365 Everyday Low price Store concept, how well this will do remains to be seen.
Nice to see the oven at FRSH heating up.
