West Coast port managers are moronic buffoons. There are 20,000 dock workers being “locked out” of evening and weekend shifts. These workers could be given pay raises of $10,000 each per year, at a cost of $200 million / year.
Instead, port management throws away BILLIONS PER DAY AND WEEK in spoiled cargo and missed shipments.

The dock workers already make $150K year for soft jobs. They have a strangle hold on the ports and hence the economic choke point. They would not go back to work for $10K, they’ve already turned down $30K. They want more job security.
