I made wholesale changes to the portfolio today–all for the better. My sales were executed in a timely order, at least intra-day. And my purchases are all up 2%+ from my basis.

I set stops this morning on my energy plays and they all hit – and ended the day much lower. Hmmm. I’m saddened that I didn’t get the full upside of this ridiculous day’s gain, but yesterday’s more than makes up for it (I was still up greater than average on the day today by a decent margin). I’ve gotta wonder what happens from here. Maybe it is like October where the massive rally just keeps going and going. I’m not so convinced, but I’m certainly able to sleep a bit easier now based on my current positioning.
I sold out of 2/3 of my energy names as well, unfortunately 1/3 of my sales were within a % or 2 or the day lows. And of course I missed the rally in the broader market as I liquidated everything 3 days ago. Need to put some cash to work tomorrow…
The Dow is an index for blue-haired old ladies and CNBC blow-up dolls. Rejoice in it at your own peril. Invest instead in NASDAQ biotechs and gas-guzzling pick-up trucks.

Fly, is SLCA one of those oil stocks that you think can double/triple in time, if oil has indeed bottomed?
I took an arrow ARWR to the face a few months , and trailers have run over my neighbors WNC. This is temporary of course. TTPH and CEMP are for the win. Up 250 and 70 % respectfully.
