I didn’t sell today–because I don’t sell into holes. You can sell into the hole and preserve your pittance. Seeing oil stocks down 75% over the past 3 months has me thinking “this may be overdone.” But that’s not even my problem. I have to deal with the Dante’s Inferno of owning GPRO, YELP, BALT and others.
I lost 3% today and I hate this life more than anything else in the world. I eagerly await the apocalypse and look forward to starting a new career as hired assasin.

Fly, in a previous post you had pointed out how this is not 2008, this time the economy was doing well. If that’s true, then is now the time to buy this 75% dip in oil? I mean, it’s not like solar or nuclear fusion is dirt cheap across the globe. We may not catch the absolute bottom, but do you think we must be very close to it?
Some of these small oils are going to zero.

So the oil producing countries budgeted for oil to be at what? $90-100? How are they going to pay for the shit they budgeted? Sell more oil? I’d assume so, leading to more supply pushing the market further down.
They have Sovereign Wealth Funds. They’ll be selling off some assets that they’ve acquired over the years through budget surpluses.
And maybe they’ll have to cut back on money they send to terrorist organizations.

in recent weeks i’ve been reallcoating a decent bit of my holdings into my long/short funds (A&Q, Burnham Financial, Blackrock & Mainstay). As to oil (WTI), at $60, if we get there, I will initiate LONG. And I will be loading up with both hands down to however low it goes. XOM and CVX will be the ultimate winners of this war of attrition, although I don’t see any reason to add to either of the tickers in the immediate future. Side note, I thought MBLY was very impressive with today’s overall tape.
I haven’t seen it this bad since I went 5 bid for a half a million shares of $C and I got hit in 1990.

Most of these oil pumping countries pump at full capacity anyway. We are near at least a good bounce in price of oil. Not sure about oil companies.

That is a great observation. GPRO search results YoY are trending in our favor, while iPad is not even iPhone 6 is mostly flat.
Compare ‘gopro’ to ‘gas prices’ and you can see that it’s trending up.
Finally, most GoPro searches are far away from traditional retail outlets. Top GoPro searches by state: Hawaii, California, Alaska, Wyoming, Utah. All western states with large outdoor segments. People that live in eastern suburbs aren’t buying these.

I’m with Caldero in that this is going to be a correction coming up for the next month or two before we rocket to riches into 2017. I personally can’t wait, since I’m all cash now and missed some of the 2013 bargains.
