I started a small position in HABT, sub $34. The newly minted burger chain IPO has enjoyed 40-50% growth in recent years and fits perfectly in my “fuck Mcdonald’s investment philosophy, where people actually pay for quality food over cheap synthetic crap.
I will be adding to this names for months to come.

Several in my area and i love it
Is it 5-guys/shakeshack-ish?
yes
Northern thing? Never seen/heard of it..
Cali based
Of course. In N Out/Whataburger/Smashburger dominate down here.
In-n-out, The Habit, ………….smashburger. In that order. Smash burger is garbage.
Smash sucks.
For me:
Shake Shack, bobby flay’s burger palace, In and Out.
It appears there is one location on the East Coast in Fair Lawn, NJ.
You’re both insane. They make Haagan-Dazs milkshakes. What’s not to like?
Too salty
Is Bobby Flay’s burger joint good? Just built one outside Boston. Avoided due to celeb chef name.
It’s incredible.
.
… that appears to be a Bacon and Mushroom Cheese Burger with Sauted Onions on the front page …
DAMN !!!
.
.
… shouldn’t that have Swiss instead of Cheddar ?
Just sayin’
.
the Irony – while i’m reading this blog, Arby’s banner ad was on top.
Wow up 93% wtf
god damn those burgers look good
Heart Attack
Hmmm, one is only 20 minutes from me. Lunch soon!
Everyone is looking for the next fast-casual dream.
Had my first Habit just last week between meetings. Got the basic classic whatever it is called. Was impressed. Something about Cali chain burger joints, they seem to get the quality and ingredient ratios right more often than out East. In N Out is up there for me. Adn so is Habit now.
YOu must like crappy thin burgers.
Not exactly a VSLR ipo.
Do the burgers actually look as good as in the picture? That looks incredible.
Where’s the beef? Very thin patty on big bun. More Big Mac than Shake Shack.
Just got back from McD’s after their new triple cheeseburger, had to try once, same shit, may have a heart attack, but I got my 4 mile walk in at least.
My restaurant initially char-grilled burgers but then switched to cooking on a griddle because of the superior flavor. On a thin patty the results were night and day. But to each his own.
My son made me take him to a HABIT Restaurant once. That was the last time. Awful. Crummy McDonalds like.
Waiting for the Shake Shack IPO. They opened one in Chicago, and it’s constantly busy. And their opening another one in early 2015.
Up here in Vancouver Vera’s (“You can’t beat our meat!”) are the thing. Excellent on every level.
Wow – what kind of stock rallies 100%. WHAT IS THIS MONSTROSITY. And what kind of crazy loon finds stocks like this.
