Post TRN conference call, the stock dropped $1.50. For the life of me, I can’t figure out why. The call was entirely bullish, with management claiming they’ve seen zero evidence of a slowdown, despite the drop in crude.
Listen to me: today’s decline is 100% horseshit. You will soon begin to understand that we are in fact residents of Dante’s inferno. The pin action in TRN is designed to drive people mad, flush them out of the stocks and into a life of manual labor.
I am a railman, always have been and always will be one. I was born inside of the coach of a train car, worked the tracks as a lad, and helped connect this great nation from coast to coast–no matter the cost. I will not be shaken out of my position, all because a bunch of milquetoast carousel operators couldn’t hold their butter.
Today was a dreadful day for me, losing more than 1.5%. On the bright side, I am still up 1% from yesterday’s open.
I intend to partake in a little cold blooded revenge tomorrow.

Today was a very modest victory for bears including myself. If we don’t get anything going tomorrow, I will give up for a little while and leave bulls alone. It’ll take me at least a month before I can play the long side of this market again. Energy is still barely alive. They did not sell stocks today and the machines kept control. Fomc was moderately tight as proved by the large currency moves, yet tlt finished green. Talk about another good sign. We will see if bulls keep cool tomorrow again. good luck to all
breadth looks very strong to me. Not much breaking last weeks lows and plenty has rebounded completely from the lows. i’d be neutral at worst right now, but in fact am bullish
Depends on your timeframe. Short term, there is no way you can should be bullish. No way. Maybe the fly is a longer term player and will end up being right. However short term the r/r is massively biased in favor of bears. As good pretty much as those 2007 tops when it wasn’t energy but subprime that was crashing.
