I’m not having a great day. It’s sort of ordinary. I felt I deserved a ‘gluttonous, joyous, stock market day,’ but apparently the stock Gods felt otherwise. I am up around 0.8%, held back by the likes of RUBI and AG. Most of my positions are higher; but it doesn’t feel sustainable. The summer malaise is kicking in. I have to say, this isn’t the ideal trading scenario for me–but I will try to make the best of it.
I really, really wanted to buy PEIX. I missed it.
I wanted to buy LEJU and TEDU back. Those went higher today too.
As of right now, my #1 high conviction trade is TSL. Do you know why? Of course you don’t, otherwise you would’t be reading this.
The Obama administration is wrong for wanting to levy duties against Chinese solar companies. The WTO just ruled against us and said it was illegal. Obama is a servant to the international court and will obey. That’s my play. Plus anyway, starting a trade war with China is ridiculous and the stock is dirt cheap.
That being said, I have a problem holding onto stocks for more than a month, so I’ll likely be out at the first sign of greed. But this stock should continue to work all year ’round. Other chinese solar plays, like YGE, look good too.

I just came back from a bike ride and then a swim in the pool.
No bears, foxes, or coyotes for about 2 weeks although the last time I saw any animal action was when two cubs climbed a couple of trees behind the pool.
I was afraid they were going to fall through the screen and end up in the pool. Bear hair in the filter is bad.

i’m stuck with a slug of YGE shares at a cost of $4. Lifting the tariffs would be good news….and perhaps the “reason” why FSLR sold off this past week.

My focus is on the renaissance of the U.S. energy boom. This will drive real (not Grandma Yellen birthday money) economic support for the next 10-15 years.
TPLM is undervalued and underpriced (selling at PE less than 15). BCEI looks like it’s ready to make a major breakout. With KOG being bought out, there’s some real momentum here (no Momo).

The biggest fear mongering those bear jagoffs are doing centers around Chinese real estate. What if it ain’t as bad as they propose? Shit that market is 10X the size of the US market. Think about that…new home sales in 2013 were 12 million. That shit dwarfs the US market. Zillow trades at like 150X forward earnings. LEJU trades at 11X forward earnings. Both are growing the same rate. Both are partnered together and launching their co branded site this summer (google it). And LEJU is mopping the floor online with SFUN via BIDU and Tencent partnerships. Kicker is it has a tiny float. I still like it a lot. Thanks for originally bringing it up.
