Here, let me chum the waters: Last Friday, at the close, I saw an opportunity to take some $TWTR weekly 31’s, planning on a decent pop this week. The pop didn’t happen Tuesday morning, thus week, so I decided pull an absolute bitch move, and go trolling for affirmations on a position I already held. I became discouraged, and decided to salvage my premium (-10%), and move on to the next idea. Now I’m sulking around in a dour mood, as $TWTR has become one of the successful ideas of OA, and Chess. I fucked up..

@UB damn you must feel like poopy…lol That sucks; felt like me back in February when I bought $16 calls in BKS when it was trading at $15 a share. I rode it down to $12.50 and sold at $13 only to have it rip into the final week of expiry to $21….Needless to say would’ve been over 1000% profit. I sold for a 60% loss in premium
Danny, I looked at that BKS chart. I wouldn’t have done any better. My problem w/ this TWTR trade was I had conviction about an idea, placed myself into a perfect spot, and conducted myself like a douchebag all the way out the door…
UncleBuccs, damn the number of times I gave up on trades just before they worked. Sucks, but, it works both ways as well. Trading this fuct up market will give you a case of the stupids at times.

I keep seeing these stocks fall 10-30% on earnings. has anyone considered buying OTM puts on mid-cap earnings releases for tech and retail sector?..maybe $200 a trade or so
