These days, I actually genuinely feel bad when the guys on IBC suffer a drawdown. I can’t stand the clowns heckling via the comments section. Most have no idea how stressful the profession is. I remember, in the summer of 2011, my co-worker receiving a message from a friend of his two floors down: a PM (that’s slang for “Portfolio Manager”, for you non finance types) had a heart attack as equities knifed lower, and keeled over dead at his desk.
The one thing that the readership never seems to grasp is the difficulty of managing the type of positions The Fly holds. That is, positions of real size. What most don’t realize is that selling millions in obscure equity is not easily executed. This fact adds to trading a psychological hurdle that most of you will never experience. I have all the respect in the world for the fundies like The Fly; it takes balls of [valyrian] steel to own size in these volatile names.
To wrap up a long winded comment, everyone talking shit in the comments section… go fuck yourselves. Your positions held by Scottrade are of no importance.
