I wanted to buy EZPW because their stores got hit post gold crash. With gold trading higher, it is the perfect way to play the yellow metal, indirectly. With ICPT trading higher, I wanted to buy GALT on Friday. And, as I’ve mentioned here on the blog, I deem SALE to be in the same league as YELP, perhaps a double from here. Oh, let’s not mention the 20% move in IFON, featured here last night.
Thus far, for me, 2014 is about missed opportunity. But I told you I’d hold 90% cash until after Yellen speaks tomorrow. After all, I am a man of my word.
TXTR, DLLR, CSH and ANGI are also of interest to me. And, with RPTP and GALT trading higher off the ICPT jump, CNAT may follow through. That’s all I have for you today.

Fly- your list of picks over the years have been stellar, going all the way back to ATHR, FTK, the list is long. But it’s hard to follow you ’cause you give up too easily. Recently, natural gas was hot, but you picked AREX, which went nowhere. Do you think natgas is still a buy, and if so, how would you rate AREX? I am especially interested in COG, what are your views on it?
I’ve noticed that many times he is early. There are so many that I can think of over the years that if he had stayed in them a little longer would have produced phenomenal gains. It doesn’t matter though. He still hits grand slams often.
Plenty of good ideas (and many bad ones too like anyone) but the problem is he has no objective pathway to successful position tradings. Saying I’m doing something for these reasons isn’t methodical, its rationalizing. Ive read this blog for years and have never seen consistency in approach, otherwise all of his idea plays would be around some same premise where hes has domain knowlegde.
2014 can still be the year of the Fly if, big if, he can get vision right.
