Nobody on the staff should have to watch them.
For years our libraries have had detectors at the exit doors and an alarm buzzes and a gate closes if the book hasn’t been checked out.
Must be NY union protected jobs just like those unnecessary idiot train conductors I see on the LIRR, MetroNorth, etc. They actually go up and on the aisles and punch dopey tickets like it was the 1920s.
