Just FYI, with your GARP index, if you took an equal weight position in each name in the index the total return is 15.84% compared to a 19.60% return for the IWM. That’s pretty underperformance. I look forward to tracking the next GARP index in the PPT though.
I’ll stick with BALT over the index.

Incorrect. You are seeing 6 mo returns. The return is 30% considering the first half stocks that were in.
Actually., I am sure the return might be even higher than 30%. I will do a better job at documenting it in 2014.
Plus, this is a buy/hold strategy, which makes it difficult to adjust to new trends. It’s not for everyone, but isn’t bad by any stretch.
I checked the math and in fact he is correct.
The 6 month return of the IWM is 19.6%. The 6 month return of just GARP index usng buy and hold is 15.83%.
It did underperform for the timeframe shown. Im sure the yearly return is better but your post only shows the latest 6 month GARP and that checks out with the figures he posted.
Not to say the GARP isnt helpful, just that my math agrees with his
Just checked, the IWM is up 35.12% ytd going from the close of trading of 12/31/12. That’s amazing, didn’t realize that much of the gains were made in the second half.
I can’t help but chuckle at the nature of some of these bozo posters. You stick your neck out on the line and make real time calls, one of the hardest things to do. No return is good enough for them, and any flaw pointed out while winners are discarded.
I truly don’t understand some people at times. Hopefully they will be the ones perish during the population correction that comes with the next crash.

Actually, the PPT is a lot warmer and friendlier than the iBC might suggest. There seems to be a certain code of respect in there. I think the iBC stays competitive / combative to keep off the riff-raff. Definitely worth a look.
I’m a subscriber to AHWOA. Used to subscribe to the PPT, but cancelled, as a result of a work schedule that exceeded 100 hrs/wk (had no time to research/trade). Three years later, and I’m no longer a first year slave at the bank! In any regard, I plan to intentionally wait until 1/1/14 to subscribe… after years of following the site, the least I can do is kick up the full shot to you gents.
