CNBC has lost another institution from its stupid finance channel to the zealots at Fox. One has to wonder what the hell is going on at CNBC. Clearly, they’ve become the Pittsburgh Pirates of financial news, playing second fiddle to Fox. Apparently the policy at CNBC is to milk the brand for as much as they possibly can, while allowing one talent after the next, no matter the tenure, to be allowed to defect to the enemy.
Who is in charge at CNBC and how are they still employed?
After the passing of Mark Haines, I thought they’d make a sincere effort to retain talent, especially those with insight and connections, like Bartiromo and Gasparino. Instead, they’ve adopted a ‘scorched earth’ policy, allowing C-level arrogance to infect the culture and further denigrate an already damaged brand.
After Cramer and Faber defect, CNBC is all but dead.

Dr. Fly, I get my misdirection from Abby Joseph Cohen via Twitter nowadays.
If Maria leaving kills CNBC it was already dead. Never once found anything she said useful.
Exactly … as the market rallied after the elections rather than give listeners a valid reason and direction all she could do was show the audience that she was dumbfounded and try to talk the market down the last year out of personal frustration that was blatantly obvious. She and the viewers at Fox will be well served there … she found her calling.
This is clearly all Dennis Kneale’s fault!
CNBC will somehow recover from the ashes, just long enough for Dennis Kneale to take over permenantly for Larry Kudlow a d rejoin CNBC signaling the market’s 2nd generational top in 2032.
Then in 2035, CNBC will declare bankruptcy signaling the generational low.
mark haines passing was the beginning of the end of cnbc having any chance of credibility
she was the tv equivalent of the parents Victoria secret catalog back in the 90’s. I’ve moved on.
Guess I’ve done great with my vow to stop watching that asshat show – didn’t even now Haines died til now
I don’t have cable, watching TV is such a waste of time. Who provides the best financial analysis on television anyway? I get all the financial news I need to know right here on http://www.ibankcoin.com
F*ck Maria. She makes me want to hurl every time I see her platypus face.
Hopefully Kernen will follow her out the door. FOX don’t want him because they’d rather have a friend in their enemies camp.
Hey! The Pirates won 94 this year and were right there with the Cardinals in the NLDS.
Closing Bell with Scott Bleier
I don’t think you really mean the Pirates (like elizamae wrote).
More like the Houston Astros.
I never knew how big the Money Honey’s ass was until I saw her throw out a baseball a few years ago at a Yankees game (lotsa pasta).
I don’t know who this person is so no loss here.
I do believe shes married to the wisdom tree fund ceo…is that right? don’t know why I know that,,or who would care
There’s just something about her lips.
it shall henceforth be known as SantelliNBC
it shall henceforth be known as SantelliNBC
As long as Liesman is still there to tell us what to think, all is not lost.
But really, its not going to matter soon. After a few months of listening to Yellen’s hideous voice, we will have all committed ritual seppuku.
Dr. Fly says….
“After Cramer and Faber defect, CNBC is all but dead.”

Must be me…..I wouldn’t miss
cramer all that much. 😀
5 years ago Cramer was OK. But too many uppers since.
Not sure how FBN intends to thrive by hiring a bunch of the “prominent” figures who were on air when CNBC went down the tubes. As much as I love Gaspy’s meatball slinging innuendo, Dennis Kneale’s clownery, and Lou Dobbs’ hatred of capitalism, I don’t see this as much of a big deal. Love him or leave him, Cramer is the one guy who would make a huge splash. And if he isn’t willing to change his atrocious $TSCM site to generate legitimate traffic, I don’t see him making a big move to Fox.
Bartiromo is just a talking head. Who cares.
Fake jobs numbers? No shit? No shit. It is all a lie. How can this be good?
You people are way to jaded and misinterpret my opinion as support for them. As a business, cnbc needs people who can get big name interviews and tips. That’s my point.
Senor Fly I think most are just going with the flow. Your point was not missed on this end.
The guests appear on CNBC to promote themselves or to peddle a story to the audience. They desire interviewers that are sympathetic to that goal and won’t interfere with or challenge the message.
What’s good for the guest usually isn’t good for the viewer.
David Durst must be crying tonight about MB. FWIW, Euro/Asian Bloomberg now goes to Informicials leading into the European open in a lot of places in the west coast. IMHO,Maket is outside any logical point, we are just floating in air. Econ Data doesn’t matter anymore, fundies doesn’t matter, and if the FOMC can’t see the most massive bubble ever, well just help us. At least China Copper and Rebar is selling off…I am lost, this market makes no sense.Plus I am sick with the flu.
The top is in. The eurotrash forgot how to press buy for an hour or few. Unbelievable but true.
