If you are wondering where you can find stocks that are unknown, perhaps undervalued, look no further than the ipo market. As an index, they are up more than 30% this year and keep spinning higher. This is speculation at its best and I am game.
Inside the hallowed halls of The PPT, I created a screen that can search out ipos. Here are the outperformers, over the past month:

The one’s that are ripping today are ONTX, IPDN, KBIO, LITB, SCTY, CNAT, LIQD, SALE, STML and YY.
To pick the right one, I suggest starting with volume, believe it or not. Some of these stocks are too illiquid and can serve as a ‘roach motel’ if the market sours. I’d then look for relative strength, keeping my screens focused on tech and healthcare.

well at least i am not talking into the wind. ONTX 4 p.m. 10% run on Friday was a sign that it was going to get bought up big today. although who’d of thought a 25% run after Friday’s 10%. This all happned about a week after the public offerering closed. I am sold out of ONTX today. TXTR had a similar rip soon after it’s offering closed, albeit on much thinner volume. Again, I think UCP will run soon, there was never an announceement of the initial offering closing so I am not sure it has yet, I assume not. Biotech is always dangerous – just look at ICEL. MKTO, DATA, GIMO, TXTR – the recent software IPOs – are all at their top – dangerous to get in here. Other then UCP I am looking forward. Some interesting IPOs on Friday.
