At What Price Do You Buy a Winner?

I am going to make a presentation for the fine gentlemen/ladies who read iBankCoin. All others, particularly those of the vagrant class, will be precluded from seeing this post, as it is written in a special/patented font that cloaks my message to those of the Mezzo Cito–making it invisible to the naked eye.

My question to you is: at what price or valuation do you buy a winner?

The correct answer is: any price.

        AAPL success
brings more app users which helps
NFLX,ZNGA,YELP,Z,LNKD,FB (probably missing quite a few)
        and brings more searchers helping
        GOOG,YNDX,BIDU
People get lazy from spending all day staring at a screen and lazy means they don’t have time to make food and instead will eat at
        CMG,BWLD,MCD
Staring at a screen makes them tired and means they want an instant single cup of Coffee
        GMCR,(SBUX)

Yes, that’s the key question. A 50% gain is a big winner, but if that 50 will turn into 100 and 200 and 300, I will regret taking possession of my so-called “winnings”

How do we figure out what are the next “winners?”

I’ll agree with the “any price ” and add
any price in a thinly traded uptrending market .

If the power people don’t cock it up with
a rediculous dividend tax increase this could
last for a long time .

How do you know when the ride is over? You could have thrown up the similar charts for CSCO, MSFT, SUNW, etc, back in 1999. But they have been terrible investments over the subsequent decade. Even AAPL had a terrible decade+ prior to the run they’ve now been on since the late 90’s.

Answer for question #3 You don’t KNOW 100% If you did Diversification wouldn’t be KING!

However following a few simple rules GIANTS grow and grow and are always expensive. Someone can argue a 2x PEG on a 20% 5yr growth rate is too expensive to be profitable in a lifetime, but companies like AAPL dont have to grow much faster than the analyst expect to catch up to PEG of 2 and so the PE thats seemed high isn’t 6 months down the line The new PE seems high but………

There was some guy on our local business news station predicting that APPL could go up to over $1600.00/share! Once iTV comes out sometime next year he’s predicting that everyone with an iphone and ipad will want one!

many more tests must the Stock pass but the PE keeps people away a lot and should be given little consequence as long as TREND, especially a trend that is growing!

    I’ve digressed.

Ah Dear Fly, The Answer is neither price or valuation. As I am finding out the hard way, ouch, supply and demand (in which price/valuation has merit) is meaningless. The Answer is you buy them until global central banks stop easing their economies..that is all that matters.

    OEW Daily Recap:

“From an EW perspective the uptrend still looks fine. The recent rally from SPX 1387 to 1419 can be counted as a Minute wave i, and this pullback Minute ii. Should the market continue to pullback, to SPX 1387, the entire movement from 1387-1419 and back could be counted as an irregular Minor wave 2.”

“The OEW pivot at 1363 still appears to be the ”line in the sand” for the uptrend. If the market breaks below that pivot a new downtrend may be underway.”

“Another possibly is Intermediate wave v, from the SPX 1340 low, may be setting up as a diagonal triangle. Should this be the case the next rally to new highs, or back to SPX 1419, may end the uptrend.”

“Lot’s of possibilities here, including the count we have been carrying on the SPX charts. Which remains the most probable. These possibilites should clear in the next few days.”
