The Proof is in: Gold Sucks

It’s official, ladies and cement heads (CH): the bull market in precious metals is over. As a matter of fact, the bull market in the miners has been over for many months, unbeknownst to the evil dictators at CNBC.

As you sashay in and out of gold stocks, the general market is shitting on them. Would you like evidence or proof of my outrageous claims?

BASED UPON THE IRREFUTABLE LAWS OF SUPREME MATHEMATICS, IN ALL OF ITS WISDOMDRY, I GIVE YOU ACCESS TO A MERE LOOK INTO A NEW TOOL (no sykes) DEVELOPED BY THE GODLY FOLKS OVER AT iBANKCOIN.

BEHOLD:

Just so you know, that is our new correlation tool, IN BETA (fuckface), built to track all stocks and all sectors, allowing our members to know where the money is flowing. In this case, as evidenced by the ratios provided above, gold miners have vastly underperformed the SPY.

We’ll be releasing all of this shit, AND MORE, upon the rebirth and launch of The PPT 2.0.

Because it’s in BETA and hugely glitchy. That is gold, however.

We have over 200 industries in PPT

That video was actually pretty depressing, not the thought of living in Detroit depressing, but depressing nonetheless. Is Jeremy just going to slap naysayers with Gold plated SSD’s?

And 12 months? I “Pffffffff!” at your mere 12 months.

How could one expect the cement to even half-dry in 12 months?

Actually, and oddly enough, there is no better investment than gold/silver when the market bottoms. The only problem, after risk is back on, people trade out of them into highly spec names.

but the interesting thing about “Risk On” as it always seems to be followed by “Risk Off.” But i suppose that will come to an end at some point…

Does the decline in gold portend a decline in the market? Methinks it does…. Senior Le Fly? Your thoughts?

Clearly, gold is a beaten down “sector”. Does that mean that it may return in force or that the S&P needs to catch up?

Fly, I agree that on average, miners have sucked for the past year. So I agree that one thing that could mean is that the gold market is over.

OTOH, isn’t it also possible that the gold bull market has simply had a pullback in the past year? If so, I would think that the miners must be something like oversold and so likely to rally at some time this year.

“The PPT is flagging OVERBOUGHT for ZSL and OVERSOLD for a variety of silver/gold stocks, like EXK and NGD. And, to boot, UUP is flagging OVERBOUGHT on our 12 month algorithm (ranges are measured over 12 month time frame). Make no mistake, these flags are some of the most accurate indicators in the algorithm and have always made me money”

      Precisely.

I mentioned above, gold and silver do best when the market bottoms, then lags.

I bought EXK @ 9.15 and NGD @ 10.05 due to the above mentioned post. So if your PPT algo’s say to sell, then out they go. Appreciate it, IBankedALotofCoin.

          It is not saying sell.

This is a look at the correlation between gold miners vs SPY. The point: other industries have been much better investments.

When you say ZSL is overbought what is your timeframe? A couple of days? Then I agree. A couple of weeks/a month? Be careful as ZSL will eventually go to 22+. Potential double bottom in the works. My opinion of course.

Hi, Hack. Good point. However, I still am wondering about the strength of miners going forward. Going by the past year, they are weak and underperforming the S&P, so there is no evidence yet that they are a decent performing sector, whether oversold or not.

OTOH, if at some time in the future they start perking up, indicating that this past year has been a temporary pause in a bull market, then I want to invest. I guess the jury is still out.

GDX is always critical and is a POS, but only to those that “invest” in it. However, if used to front run the gold bugs it can be profitable. Think of it as a 3X ETF.

The irony the type of people who watch emptyV are the first type of people to cause a massive riot that leads to Marshall law as they riot to protest it in fear it happens. Self fulfilling prophesy if it happens.

I’m long one miner, but they are fund diversified through different metals and market. I bought them cheap as fuck, and this fucking roller coaster has to end soon. At which time I will liquidate this small position and perhaps buy the fiance a new Rover, Indeud! Stevie Janowksi and Alf must be relatives.

So the most recent pullback in gold has no room to rebound? Sentiment is influenced by inflationary news, so it seems to me as long as oil stays high and the printing presses have freshly printed Euros, there is an ample supply of inflationary news to feed the gold bugs. I might be drinking Koolaid, but FWIW it seems probable that gold is just consolidating after the recent spike before the buying resumes. Gold miners are more undervalued than gold itself, so my money is on the leveraged miners.
