Some German official is trying to cut subsidies on solar using a monthly schedule, as opposed to the current bi-annual. The result is absolute elevator cord snap trading action in solar stocks, including FSLR. I knew going in there were two sides to the sword. Yesterday the stock was going Donkey Kong, throwing barrels at the shorts below. Today, it’s getting mudstomped. It is the life of a speculator; live with it or quit.
With today’s additions of both SFLY and SODA to the old portfolio, it’s official: I have compiled an all-star list of companies, most hated by short sellers, almost on a universal scale. Why have I opted for this obtuse course of action, in light of today’s solar meltdown, is beyond me. Nevertheless, the market is in the punishing mood, so I gather we can proceed to check the shorts with a hockey stick like rally for a few more days.
Back to FSLR: I will not buy more. It will either rebound from here or trade lower and force me to cut losses.
My cash position is now around 20%.

I put a line in the sand and cut my losses at 15%. I will continue to use the system and will act when we hit Oversold. However, seeing the market irrationally wants to press higher, coupled with the fact that TZA ‘s losses extrapolate with time, I chose to forgo any windfall that might come my way by market decline in favor of cash.

Natural gas is now free. Feel free to use it to flood third world countries off the face of the earth, and throw your solar panels at an unsuspecting neighbors. Forget swimming in a pool of water or gardening crops or bathing in water, we must conserve water, and replace it with natural gas. Drink up.
Governments will continue to bankrupt themselves buying up solar panels even though they have 100s of years worth of nat gas right now.
We have so much NatGas, governments will use Natty to synthesize silicone for solar panels, then set them up to gather less energy over that panels lifespan than if they just burned the natural gas in a combustion engine.
We will do all of this, as a show of force to our Chinese slaves.

People short those stocks because they are stupid companies. Shutterfly– who needs them to get photos printed? SODA– I’m trying to limit soda in my house, not add to it. Solar energy never made any sense. The sun only shines sometimes. Gov’t subsidies are the only thing that makes it seem to work. Investing in stupid companies because they have a large short position does not make any sense.
Big difference between investing and trading in stupid companies. I don’t think Fly is going all Warren Buffett on the likes of SFLY and SODA.
With natural gas now FREE, why are people so worked up about bringing sand-filled low grade oil up from Canada, in a pipeline which will use a couple of thousand perverts and sex offenders for its construction, and pristine water from water-short central USA aquifers to pump the fuckin dirty sludge?
Only to be refined in Houston for export to Mexico and Europe, as we drown in our USA GLUT of oil and gas, and the perverts and sex offenders go on unemployment?

NG and gasoline are not the same. people still like to run their cars, and we will be needing petroleum for many years to come. Better to get it from Canada than Saudi.
