It’s Not 2011, Jokers

2011 was so 19 days ago. The idea that we will trade down because of European debt or a staggered US recovery is simply wrong. Do you want to know why it’s wrong?

Answer: because it’s not 2011.

Back in the destitute days of 2011, investment managers lamented over balance sheets and overwhelming debt burdens. Now they just look at that shit and eat potato chips. They can’t hear the shorts anymore because the chips are crunching loudly in their ears. People are eating pickles and playing with ham sandwiches. Life is good again and the shorts are on the run, scared to death of serial killers stalking them for their skin.

Everything goes up. Whether we are talking housing or NFLX, investors want a piece of that action. Semis and fiber stocks are stabbing short sellers in the face, whilst snorting loooooooong lines of uncut cocaine. Obama has it going on and will be elected for another illustrious term, effectively decapitating the GOP into an austere faggot box (no offense to guy guys of course).

As for me, I am interested in DMND because it’s nuts. So the company is running a fucking walnut mafia, what are you going to do about it? Exactly. It’s not like they have exposure to some sort of fucked up Walnut-Peacan derivative trade gone nuclear. They will simply whack a few people, pay off some bribes and the stock will rally. I’m also long FSLR because Europe is back and so is Obama.

Ladies and Gents, it’s time to forget about the year of 2011 and embrace the essence that is 2012, which is winship.

depression is simply the difference between your experiences of happiness compared to sadness. Moderate your emotions and you will never get depressed.

Consider your small problems compared to someone working at a FOXCONN factory in Shenzen, who is starving and being worked to death, then ponder, if that FOXCONN worker had my life would he be depressed?

Depression is simply a matter of perspective.

The Foxconn workers in Shenzen have it better than most in China.

I have no reason to be depressed…but option-based directional bets gone wrong almost always get me.

On the other hand, I am driving up to breckenridge in the next two hours for a weekend ski getaway, so life is not all bad.

Sounds like your depression is self inflicted. You’re able to do that Breckenridge trip so I’d agree with you it isn’t bad. In fact I’d say you are pretty happy.

I dunno. East Coast skiing is often very icy.

One could easily Sony Bono oneself and that would be depressing.

That’s where I got my first piece of a$$: HS ski trip. Orange County football coach’s daughter (won’t name which city for obvious reasons).

CO and UT ARE great for skiing, but CA’s Mammoth offers the most in one locus.

2011 market will not be missed…

Fly, I missed your earlier posts regarding health and longevity of life and wanted to chime in a suggestion for you and your fellow followers…if you have not already done so, read THE CHINA STUDY and spread the word to your disciples. This one book seriously changed my life years ago and I now consider it THE Health Bible.

How does one know they’re depressed? When you are depressed, your mental functioning is impaired thereby rendering your ability to judge your emotions not credible. So you probably aren’t depressed, even when you are.

If you keep on looking at past memories you had when you are sad in your mind, of course you are going to be roughly as sad as you were when those memories occurred. If you hear a whiny voice in your head when you talk to yourself and think with such a poor attitude, of course you are going to feel sad. But if you stop doing the things that make you feel sad, including monitoring which thoughts you make and in what way you make them, how can you be sad? Are you depressed the moment before a climax?

The people that are depressed apparently believe they are also clairvoyant since they say things to themselves like “things will never get better”. How do they know, what are they… psychic? that is an insane assumption, and if you can know that, then you should also be able to predict the lotto tickets with reasonable accuracy, thereby relieving a large amount of financial stress, giving you a sense of achievement, and the ability to pay off stress causing obligations and things that you enjoy and thus no longer being depressed.

Depression is the act of self loathing chronically. It is no different than someone who smacks themselves in the head over and over again or runs into a wall again and again and blaming the wall for being there.

sort of true, but not completely

some people have chemical imbalances such as lacking adequate serotonin which makes them less able to “fight it” mentally

Respectfully, clinical depression is real and can’t be boot-strapped. You are talking about sad, melancholly or dejected affect (not e-ffect or a-ffect), that can be boot-strapped.
