I must say, the earnings season has been dreadful for a variety of industries, especially communications equipment. I thought we had a boom going in fiber? GLW, CIEN, FNSR, JNPR, CSCO all suck goat balls. It’s really hard to get long that sector. However, the market doesn’t need that sector to bounce, in order to apply “the iron lotus” to the heads of bears.
Providing we stabilize this morning, I will be deploying cash into a variety of stocks. For personal, I am getting long more XIV and VXX puts, betting that volatility, as always, will compress.
Finally, the steel sector is dead, fucking dead. AKS, X, CLF are all horrible, just to name a few. This market is really hard to navigate, due to the bouncing betty landmines littering the field.
Be careful out there, you nebulous pancake flippers, and try to avoid those murderholes.

LOGI creamed on poor Google TV sales.
For those who played LOGI on hopes of a Google TV moonshot, that’s too bad. However, never underestimate GOOG. Look what their announcement of a Content Delivery Network did to AKAM today.
GOOG is the Internet. Don’t play the side bets via LOGI when you can buy GOOG.
I think Facebook is going to get creamed by GOOG, but I can’t give you a timeframe. Possible implications for GSVC?
I would have a much larger GOOG position today except that I’m still waiting out this market uncertainty. I added pre earnings, and will add more on dips.
Meant to add….GOOG is the WMT of the Internet. They are putting enormous pressure on any market leader when they enter the space. MSFT did the same back in the day, but GOOG has a much bigger impact today and shortens the timeframe in which they will put other companies out of business.
