Pushing the Envelope

Today’s early trade offered a triple fake out, where sellers accumulated at the open, only to be trashed and flushed down toilets inside of 60 minutes. Although I started a small position in TZA for my personal, I am still “all in” in managed accounts and I am heavily leveraged long in my personal.

I do think we are due for a minor correction, which is why I am somewhat cautious here. However, valuations keep me buying and long. I love CLF here, up to $106. And, of course, I think the refiners are the single best investment ideas out there right now.

Yesterday I picked up some PFCB and NXPI. I like the restaurants, especially with lower oil. And, I believe tech names have been oversold. Names like BRCM, DIOD, CY and SWKS should be bought.

This is where the shorts tap out due to max pain. This is where you can press them in names with large short positions.

Be quick, smart and don’t forget to book profits.

UPDATE: I bought FAS and BAC.

Where did all of the macro-economic geniuses go who were calling for the end of the world?

They’re never around when you need them…or after the market rallies 3% in 3 days.

So impatient! Things won’t get interesting until next year. In the meantime, enjoy the remainder of your ride on Normal. (Bot UCO)

And don’t forget CREE, CEVA, SWKS and RBCN as good squeeze candidates.

Hey Quint, I’m still here, ready to short this market very soon. Fly said it best earlier today when he quipped that he has no idea what the world will look like in 5 years.

We can keep kicking cans and pretending like it will all work out, but I’m pretty sure this last bubble burst the last 50 year of excess and this time there is no band aid that will work.

As somebody who is definitely of the “short the market” mindset right now, there is no way you can do it right now after the last couple of days. I was ready to short this morning based on the opening gap…but then there was no gap. Now I have to sit and wait again as this thing melts up further. I do believe there are people leaning short who are stuck, which means the spike should continue further.

I’m eyeing 1310-12 as the next place to consider shorting again…with that said, until I see something that makes me believe this run is over, I will sit on my hands and ponder what I will do when the world ends. In this jacked market environment, it’s conceivable this thing melts all the way back to up 1370…I don’t think it will, but I also didn’t think we’d see 1300+ so quickly either.

Good to hear someone is still out there…while you’re waiting for the world to end, why not try making some money…watching everyone else print coin must be tough.

      Fish on the line…
