My trusty birthday thief and fellow iBC blogger, Senator Gint, has been right all along with the precious metals, despite the multitude of mini-horrific-financial car wrecks he has endured, which is part and parcel of commodity investing. Do not let the bullshit from the banks or tech sector distract you. Silver and gold is telling you exactly what you need to know: inflation is on the way, in earnest.
Hopefully, in my lifetime, I will be able to eat a $100 tomato and drive throughout NYC rush hour, without having to honk my horn.
Listen to me very quietly and never question me again: the western money changers want to remain in power. To do this, they will debase western currencies. As a result, stocks and commodities will soar. The leaders will be found in the commodity sector. Quit trying to find the next AAPL and position yourself to benefit from the dilution of the money inside of your K-Mart jeans.
Top picks: OXY, WNR, ATPG, CENX, AKS, CLF, CVI

bows to Jake Gint lord of all things shiny
Haines drops on le Flea’s 35th & Senator Gint 38th (guess) 🙁
Part of the Fly’s master plan to render all of CNBC moot.
Ugandan black adder’s venom in the oatmeal… untraceable in the blood after three minutes and as for effect, it looks remarkably like your typical fat guy heart attack.
_______
RIP Mark Haines
OXY is putting in a Haines bottom.
mmm… bottom…
Is that a man or a woman butt? I don’t want to think gay thoughts.
CNBC Mark Haines passes away at 65….RIP…he was a good guy!!
Happy B-Day Le Fly/Horatio Clawhammer/Plutonium Petey/King Cock/ Senor Tropicana/Space Alien Magician! Happy B-Day to all of you!
BTW, I listened “carefully.” I always listen quietly as my ears do not emit any noise whatsoever.
Happy Birthday to the Fly, and now I’ve gotta pour out a ’40 for Haines. Said ’40 is only coffee right now, but I’ll do it properly tonight.
RIP – Mark Haines. Often disagreed with his point of view, but he seemed like a decent enough guy.
In a discussion of the blown call during Wednesday night’s almost-perfect-game, Burnett argued that the umpire and pitcher’s “graciousness” were so “beautiful” that it made for a “more memorable moment” than a perfect game would have.
“See, this is why women aren’t in charge of sports,” Haines shot back.
Fly, all the best to you and yours on your birthday!
China appears to be doing well in terms of infrastructure creation and upgrades, stockpiling inflation-proof materials like oil, uranium, metals, people. The Chinese government has done lots of progressive things (though they still leave much to be desired in many ways) Good for them. But they have now officially surpassed all of my expectations BY HAVING LIGERS!!!

“Ligers a fuckin cool!” -anyone that’s awesome
you must have read bowtie jimmy’s “hot commodities” this weekend
Happy Birthday to Fly!
Mixing things up a bit today. Dropped SSCC for TRN because bigger boxes are better. Train car orders have exploded recently and TRN has turned around their earnings by smashing last quarter’s estimates. Backlogs and deliveries have skyrocketed in North America (http://bloom.bg/lAMffh).
I also picked up some CLF for strength in iron ore as reported by AKS increasing prices for their hot and cold rolled carbon steel. AKS is fighting margins due to rising input costs. I do like MSB more but it is a little thinly traded.
TTT another thin one provides ore to CLF …
Just put on my second half of ZLC. I am now carrying as much ZLC as I would like.
You mean Zale’s right? Not ZSL, the silver short?
_________
yes. zales. I’m looking to grab at least a few more points. But that all depends on how the stock does on its first reaction.
The USD is now worth about half of what it was worth in 1985 and less than 10% of what it was worth in 1950. It’s direction is clear, but it is a sawtooth process. When silver just dropped 30%, it gave me, a long-term physical holder, a few sleepless nights. As far as other commodities go, Goldman Sachs just came out yesterday with a buy order for oil.
Happy Birthday!
TSLA

48% short position. Is this a great squeeze opportunity? I think so.
Very cool.
Happy Birthday Jake and Fly. Its sort of surreal with Mark Haines dying…life rocks, death sucks. Per Gerry at Live, Cititechs have a heavy put on eur/usd at 1.4100 so I expect some defense out of them to stop this morning rally fwiw….btw, guys why are you working on your birthdays? Go have some Birthday Sex.
Is that an offer, or a bid?
_____
Careful if the spread is wide.
ROFL…Jake, .call option….Happy Birthday.
dumped KKD. Too many sellers not enough buyers. Another ill-fated bet.
