Thus far, it’s been a biblical or “magic book” spring, with one natural disaster after another, plaguing the slave owners from the south. If God is real, there is no reason to not plague the south with heinous natural disasters. Over the decades, the citizenry of the confederate have earned the right to be smited.
As the Mississippi river crests, refiners along the banks will be shut the fuck down. Should that happen, WNR will fuck all shorts, instantly. In essence, WNR will become some sort of medieval fucking machine, victimizing shorts to no end. Reason being: their refineries are not near the river and they will be able to profit from any supply disruptions. FYI: supply disruptions mean higher gasoline prices, etc. Nevertheless, spreads are lower this morning, following the gorilla run of the past 3 days.
I’m looking for a dull market today and a pullback in silver. I intend to buy the PSLV sold yesterday at lower prices. For now, I like my chances bulking up on tech.

Regular unleaded at $4.16 here in the Lou this morning.
I can’t remember how high it got the last time (i.e., right before the 2008 crash) but it was pretty close to this.
If this is sustained, I just don’t see the market “powering through” it.
_____
4.34 here
the cheapest i get is at 4.41 now regular.but 4.75- 5.00 is the norm for reg in the rest of chitown.
$4.15 here. I expect the price to stay high and go higher. This time is different than last time.
$1.41 in canuckistan – highest ever.
That’s $5.30/gallon for non-metric types out there.
4.14 viva nashvegas
Detroit is about $4.08, last I checked.
I will be following the flood on IBC news network. How bout a little graph on the home page with refineries set up as bowling pins.
Water is tired of being confined. The Fly has already felt the first strike in the liberation of H2O.
I mean what the fuck, we need Obama to send an elite task force to kill this fucking water!!!
Sheesh– for once we are cheaper here in the Pac NW. 3.85 at Costco yesterday.
I just sent in “prayer requests” to several Louisiana Televangelist for a week long shut down of all oil refining facilities within the flood zone of the Mississippi river.
As long as $100 accompanies the request, they will not only pray for you, but they will tell you that you will make $1M back.
Nice, cause I done sent in 2 hunnerd dallers.
is it time for happy hour yet, alj is kickin my ass…
$4.49 here in Fairfield County, Connecticut.
From Reuters:
“The U.S. Army Corp of Engineers was planning to open the
Morganza spillway by early next week, which will send flood
waters from the Mississippi to the Atchafalaya River, likely
disrupting operations at Alon USA Energy’s (ALJ.N) 80,000 bpd
Krotz Springs, Louisiana, refinery.
REFINERIES AT RISK FROM FLOODS (in bpd)
* Alon USA Energy (ALJ.N) Krotz Springs, Louisiana: 80,000
* Chalmette Refining (XOM.N) Chalmette, Louisiana: 192,500
*ConocoPhillips (COP.N) Belle Chasse, Louisiana: 247,000
*Exxon Mobil Corp (XOM.N) Baton Rouge, Louisiana: 504,500
(Second-largest U.S. refinery)
*Marathon Oil Corp (MRO.N) Garyville, Louisiana: 436,000
*Motiva Enterprises (RDSa.L) Convent, Louisiana: 235,000

In baton rouge staring out of my office window at the river and Exxon refinery. River still has a little more to go before it’s at risk. If they open morganza spillway (which they will most likely do in next few days), exxon refinery not expected to flood. Looking at the others on this list, i don’t expect any of these to flood….all depends on whether they open morganza spillway.
Clay, just trying to find the news that is having profit seekers trample each other for the exit. I’m in this until the economics change underlying the ridiculous edge that the refiners have.
Just so I’m clear, you, who are are on the Atchafalaya river, do not feel that there will be flooding, even if they open the Morganza spillway? If that’s the case, ALJ and WNR are on sale this morning.
The only one possibly at jeopardy in the list above is ALJ. This is near the atchafalaya basin – I’m pretty sure this area will flood, but don’t hold me to it. The rest are between BR and NO (and south) – they will not let this area flood. Hence, the opening of the Morganza. If any of these others are on sale, I would strongly consider.
Not sure about WNR – do they have a refinery here?
Nothing more enjoyable than watching all of Le Fly’s positions trade down from levels not to be seen again in some time. His recent overly cocky attitude and relentless pursuit for validation of his Silver and Refinery trades has the makings of a pending drawdown of magnificent proportions. Stay tuned…FIT.
easy to talk when your track record has not been published, both good and bad trades I may add.
tell you what. set up a web site, time stamp every trade you make and the maybe, just maybe you can open your cake hole.
I would bet that you are not a very happy person overall.
looks like raj is goin to jail.
Margin calls galore today.
