For the people who actually give a rip about the fundamentals, the ~.82 consensus estimate for this qtr WNR implies a crack spread of $16. If you plug in 24, they make around 2.10 EPS, at $30 its around 2.89, *for q2*. Thats based on the sga,intExp,amort, and operating numbers they talked about on the call.
Funny, how it was boner time for WNR a few weeks ago, before the 20% haircut. Now, cracks are up 7%, and the stock is still down 15%. The rally in WNR is tired. The stock is up from $5 to $16.50 in 6 months. Spreads will not stay this high for long. They will crash just like silver did last week.
As I said earlier, ride this wave up to $17 and sell. There is no more secular bull play in the refiners. You missed it if you weren’t in back in January or earlier.

Morgan and Stanley Refining Conf 5/19. WNR annual meeting 6/7. CVI earning today. WNR hit the earnings estimate of .30c if you eliminate the junk so new estimates will be close to reality probably. Refineries will be impacted by flooding. up and down the Mississippi. Perfect timing for sale of Yorktown. Article says TSO is looking for refineries to purchase which will remove the plants available or accelerate other buyers to move quickly.
Can Yorktown be worth much if they are not even bothering to run it today? With these crack spreads why does it sit idle?
