This Website is Truly Ridiculous

For the first time in a long time, I ventured off into the dark abyss of the financial blogosphere. Mainly, ideas were plentiful, some cogent others not-so-much. However, the overall common denominator is the incredibly low IQ’s of the gurus professing investment acumen. Most of these men can’t string 10 sentences together, without committing heinous syntax errors, let alone teach me how to bank coin. All in all, the grammar is nothing less than an abomination out there.

If I was terrible at fixing bathroom pipes, I would not advertise in my local newspaper “handyman available, specializing in fixing bathroom pipes.” The very notion that you muster the nerve to blog, without knowing how to write and speak proper English, is shameful. SHAME ON YOUR HOUSE, in all seriousness.

After throwing almonds at my screen, disgusted by the lack of creativity on the web, I ventured back to iBC and was equally chagrined. Quite honestly, if I was viewing iBC, particularly Fly blog, for the very first time, I’d think “The Fly” was a Goddamned idiot (note: I am permitted to say “Goddamned” because I know he is a figment of your overzealous imagination). With all of the cursing and joshing around, I’m afraid this website is being misrepresented by some deranged rapper with a few million worth of diamond necklace money sloshing around the markets for sport.

Plainly, your opinions are not all that important to me. I do not say that out of disrespect or disdain for my readership. Don’t get me wrong: if I read harsh criticisms, they sting for about 1-3 minutes. Then I remember how “awesome and amazing” my $30,000 “bathroom problem” is and I forget all about it. Life is too short to worry about the opinions of those who do not truly know you. The important factor that has me on this train of thought is my children. Tooth fairy forbid my teenage son logged on and saw the drivel posted here, I’d be shamed for about 3-6 minutes. In all seriousness, I do not conduct myself in the same manner in real life, as I do here.

I’m not getting all emotional about this issue, quite the contrary. It’s very likely I will continue to tell you to “fuck off” in between sips of hot hot coffee. However, just know, eventually, this shit you read here will need to be watered down, as I ride into the sunset, an old goat fucker.

I have seriously tried to read other financial blogs – they are horrible and quite boring.

The fact that you threaten your readers is the attraction to iBC. Just like that poor woman who gets beaten by her husband when he gets “upset”, yet begs the police not to press charges as he didn’t mean it. We come back daily (or hourly) to hear you threaten to split heads.

Please don’t let up on the insults.

This is testament to why NYC has trade offs. You get out of they’r [sic], where rat-faced fuck faces acting 24-hour nuisance opens the door to acreage and peace. Hopefully other annoying assholes will keep Fly’s vigilant spirit aloft. I hope this blog ends up a book/blog-legend. There are nuggets and diamonds here I tellz ya.

They also buy more oil, uranium, precious metals, and little jade buddha’s. It will feel so good when the little jade buddha bubble finally pops! It is not considered rude to corrrect poor folks and their english where I come from, probably because 97% already speak it perfectly well.

It is necessary to point out that when using present subjunctive, the proper sentence would read ” If I were terrible at fixing pipes” not “If I was terrible at fixing”.

Ex: If my bitch were not a whore, I would not have to crush the skull of every circling hard dick in my neighborhood.

That is all young english students, proceed.

Fly, on your blog you brag when you are up, and you complain when you are down. On other market blogs, the blogger kings will never admit to being down. We only get to read about their winners. Other than God, only Goldman Sachs, JPM, BAC, Morgan Stanley and Citi have perfect trading quarters (and I’m not so sure about God). Only you allow us to see you on those days when the market is smacking you around. Who, other than Fly, would allow us to see him like this?

I enjoy and appreciate the mix between fine writing and juvenile potty mouth humor here. It amazes and impresses me how one post comment thread can turn from “dick” humor to a serious and subtle point about trading and markets.

A well balanced financial blog surfing diet includes many sites, and this one is part of the mix.

I suspect more popular financial sites have something driving traffic like a TV show or parent site, or they take a mainstream format position. I think the iBC “format” is more niche. This is not a bad thing since frequently niche formats have audience demographics that advertisers covet.

I think niche formats attract more creative talent as well. Think about the tedium and questionable Karma of writing a doomsday blog day in and day out. Especially since some readers may be betting the family farm and future on your content. The better sites are very clear up front about the disclaimers, like iBC.

Readers should take responsibility for their own lives and trading! A great performance frequently has nuggets of the truth embedded in the entertainment. That is the empowerment of the audience.

How it Works – The Jersey Way

Three contractors are bidding to fix a broken fence at the White
House in D.C. — one from New Jersey, another from Tennessee and the
third, from Florida. They go with a White House official to examine the
    fence.

    How it works:

The Florida contractor, Jonathan, takes out a tape measure and does some
measuring, then works some figures with a pencil. “Well”, he says, “I
figure the job will run about $900: $400 for materials, $400 for my crew and
    $100 profit for me.”

Cletus, the Tennessee contractor also does some measuring and figuring,
then says, “I can do this job for $700: $300 for materials, $300 for my
crew and $100 profit for me.”

Vito from Jersey doesn’t measure or figure, but leans over
to the White House official and whispers, “$2,700”.

The official, incredulous, says, “You didn’t even measure like the
other guys! How did you come up with such a high figure?”

The New Jersey contractor whispers back, “$1000 for me, $1000 for you,
and we hire the guy from Tennessee to fix the fence.”

    “Done!” replies the government official.

And that, my friends, is how it all works!

question… does anyone have a site that lists the historical global market allocations? I remember someone saying something like “in the 70s oil crisis 25% of all cash in the market was allocated towards energy” or something like that. I’m trying to work on a thesis based on how much of the world’s resources are allocated to any particular area, particularly one in identifying the point at which criteria for a “mania” is reached to see if there are any patterns.
