Consumer confidence rising.
Why not?
I have been in and out XHB and ITB etfs several times today (buying on dips and selling as it rises) ,but then again I am a deranged daytrader.
RYL and LEN are decent buys, about one rung below KBH in the target home buying public.
The consumer confidence report said that plans for buying a home were bad and a major negative.
That being said, the positive spin for housing, generally speaking, can be from the MBA report the other day that said the purchase index is up 14% M/M, but in other reports existing home sales are down, new home sales are down, supply increased to 8.6 months from 7.9, FHFA house prices are down m/m, and today’s Case Shiller report has a decline in home prices across America.
Seasonally KBH is strong in December/January and the risk/reward isn’t horrible at today’s price given tomorrow could be a catalyst to shoot higher for a trade (pending home sales). Also looking through my notes, they did hit an inflection point in earnings last quarter.
I actually like this stock for a trade but tomorrow could add some volatility.
