I saw that crazy neurotic fuck from Who Wants to Be a Dipshit do a stand-up routine in Tahoe a couple of years ago. He got no further than 5 minutes into his show and tallied up 5 “Fucks”, 3 “Assholes” and a symphony of jerk-off references when he spotted a family (children and all) 5 rows in. After washing his hands, he kicked the entire family out of the show after asking if anyone saw the warning on the marquee at the entrance. True story. Funny stuff. BTW, kids were giggling all the way out of the theater.

Just got notice of almost a 50% increase of my homeowners premium (1 claim for $1200 in 30 years).

I applied for disability insurance. Now they are “studying” my application and have not indicated when or if a policy will be issued. I think they will delay processing six months to see if I have not disclosed something.
The agent says the policy is in force the moment I apply, but I think that is incorrect.
The policy is in full force wrt them collecting your payments.

In my neighborhood, you know that new street they were making a few months back, because all the existing lots and houses were sold at HIGHER PRICES than 2007? They’ve now sold that new street out. No joke, sold signs up and down the street. Street so filled with subcontractor cars you can’t even drive through it. So this weekend they are paying another big crew overtime to build a SECOND NEW STREET, this one even bigger that the last.
Recovery here preceded the national recovery 4-6 months. I think this puppy is going to the moon soon.

Swear to shit, oil speculators have to be the biggest knee-jerk reactionaries in the financial industry. The financial media does its part to spur it on. Just think, back in early February oil was falling under $75 and heading to <$70. Here we are two months later and oil PLUNGES below $82. Give me a fucking break already.
But the best was way back in the great days of ’08 when oil was running up to $140. Back then all it took was a report of two redneck refinery workers from Pasadena, TX being too hungover to show up for work to add $10 to a barrel of oil.

The shitty bank didn’t do anything. Its now pretty clear to me what is going to happen here. The market will remain buoyed up. Those bots that GS and other have are now being controlled by the government in an elaborate scheme to somehow try and keep our economy afloat through everything. They are going to pass financial reform and prevent the market from falling at the same time. There is no telling how long this can last, but I would say until the tea partiers get so pissed off about it that they revolt. That will be years, most likely around the 2012 election. So, I see this market trading sideways from here on in. I am sticking by my SRS and ES. I sold NG on Friday.

Sure. Basically, at this point, the economy is ruined. It has been for years, and in 08, it was supposed to completely implode. Since then, all of the too big to fail organizations have been cooking their books with the assistance of government regulators. That is why I say Shitty bank didn’t do anything. As for ES. I gave it a $100 price just as a benchmark. I honestly don’t know how high it will go. However, my take on the situation is this. The days of big oil are over. Oil can no longer be found as easily as it used to. In addition, the third world is now using oil based products more than ever before. Something needs to change to provide the energy for a huge world population going forward. The big change will be that governments will now support nuclear power generation rather than making it harder for companies like ES. This means that governments are going to support nuclear power, and the big winners will be nuclear companies. ES is uniquely positioned in this space, and they are going to become one of the big winners in the new nuclear era. I honestly can’t tell you how high the stock will go, I do know it is severely undervalued right now for the money it currently brings in. Once the contracts start pouring in, I figure it will be taking off.

It is hard to value these companies going forward. There are a lot of things that could happen in the marketplace that could hurt these companies. However, I think the government needs for nuclear to happen, so no matter what, they are going to keep these companies around and have them grow. I know you may think I’m nuts for saying these things, but that is where we have come now. The government has no choice but to go nuclear, so they are going to do it, and companies like ES and USU will profit. I like ES more than USU because USU is limited to the US, and they have no dividend, making the stock much more volatile. ES is the AREVA of the United States in my opinion.
I agree with the nuclear angle which is why I got in. I think it’s the only way to go if you want plentiful energy and eventually a really cheap source.
I read today that the US would require something like 750 reactors to just keep things as they are in terms of energy consumption. That’s a big fucking nut to crack..
