Separately, I am trying to make believe I did not read that the dick suckers from Silicon Storage Technology, Inc. [[SSTI]] might have accepted a $3.05 offer from Microchip Technology Inc. [[MCHP]] . There has to be more to the story. With the stock down to $3.07 in pre-market, there is no point selling here. The hard cash offer is now $3.05. Let’s see if Cerberus steps up with a counteroffer. If not, chalk up a 5% loss. Not that much of a big deal.
Commodities are red hot these days, as analysts completely fuck themselves with shifting opinions. Case in point: United States Steel Corporation [[X]] .
How many times have analysts changed their opinions on letter X over the past year? Always remember, research is entirely vital in helping you understand what you are invested in. However, when it comes to buy/sell recs, please don’t waste your time taking the advice from nerdtron analysts.

i put 80% of my funds (using a bit of margin) into SDS near Friday’s close, at S&P 1138.5 or so. If i’m wrong, I’ll stop myself out around 1152. I also put 4% into a PCLN short last week at $235.80; as far as I’m concerned, when a company issues debt with a plan to use the proceeds to “buy back its undervalued shares”, while at the same time the top insiders are dumping those shares like crazy, well, that’s like ringing a bell. (If I’m wrong, I’ll stop myself out at $245.) I’m also now around 40% in DUSA (up from my 33%) because the stock’s been going up. I think that company will get bought for at least $4.50/share at some point within the next 12 to 18 months.

A Cambridge cancer-fighting drug developer plans to raise around $100 million this week in its initial public offering of stock.
Aveo Pharmaceuticals Inc. is set to sell 7 million shares at $13 to $15 each.
Scott Sweet, who analyzes IPOs for IPOBoutique.com, said Aveo will likely meet the same fate as Anthera Pharmaceuticals Inc. The Hayward, Calif., firm had to slash its IPO price last week and raised less than 60 percent of what it had hoped.
Investors are jittery about approvals from the Food and Drug Administration, and that Aveo’s lead product candidate, Tivozanib, may not be ready until 2013, Sweet said.
Aveo started in 2002 as GenPath Pharmaceuticals. Its stock is expected to trade on the Nasdaq under the symbol “AVEO.”
