All In

Fuck it. I’m going to go with my gut here and shoot for a triple digit return, by releasing my cash position into the market.

I cut loose BigBand Networks, Inc. [[BBND]] , mainly because it was a fucking headache. I sold out of FBR and [[ENTR]] , mainly because they were small/legacy positions. Out with the old, in with the new.

I am legging into some Century Aluminum Company [[CENX]] , which is the most leveraged aluminum stock on the fucking planet, with zero hedges. And, I averaged in on some Green Mountain Coffee Roasters Inc. [[GMCR]] , just because. Finally, I took a stake in [[YONG]] , based upon recent Chinese-Ag trends. Additionally, the entire Ag sector is ripping higher, led by my The Mosaic Company [[MOS]] .

I have several other names on my buy lists, even a few airlines.

UPDATE: I bulked up on W.W. Grainger, Inc. [[GWW]] ,  Masco Corporation [[MAS]] and [[CBD]]

Mosaic based in Tampa area. Few years ago asked my neighbor why they were doing so well. Thought he would say worldwide growth or China he said simply ethanol. They were doing average he said until the push for ethanol and then it was off to the races for Mosaic.

I saw the posts this morning that ethanol goes to 15% —-this would be huge for mosaic. It hits what obama wants too—green energy and more money to corn farmers which will lead to more ag jobs. I think they definitely push for 15% which will be huge for ferts. Might make MOS a huge runner next six months.

    • TraderCaddy says:

I thought I heard on the news the other day that MOS was going to permanently close a plant in Tampa?

      • Tampa Trader says:

maybe it’s a phosphate mine being closed at the end of its useful life? they just opened a new headquarters in tampa area. They are going to build a big resort on a closed out phosphate mine in a Central Florida location to show the site can be made very nice after they are done with it. Mosaic is running a big PR campaign about the good things they do. If they closed a mine, they will have many more to open. They seem to have a lot of $$ and confidence

  20. Mr. President says:

Great stuff about $WNR! And I quote:

“The prehistory of Green Mountain Coffee, Inc. is shrouded in smoke–marijuana smoke. In 1971 company founder Robert Stiller had helped launch E-Z Wider, a maker of rolling papers. E-Z Wider offered smokers wider papers, so they did not have to lick and splice two papers together to make bigger joints. As the high flying days of the 1970s came to a close, Stiller and his partner Burton Rubin sold the company to English tobacconeer Rizla for $6.2 million.”

    • Voodoo River says:

Great story! GMCR was so environmentally friendly at its roots yet all these wasteful single serve plastic K-Cup that are being dumped across the country. I guess it is fuck the environment now for more profits.

      • Mr. Cain Thaler says:

Bah!! Everything the K-cups are made of came from the environment. We’re just putting it back.

        • JakeGint says:

The wasteful but largely profitable K-cup is a result of the influence of all the Tuck people that have gone to work for GMCR over the last 15 years… those hard charging Dartmouth conservatives tossed all the hippies down elevator shafts and out windows, defenestration-style.

    • Mr. Cain Thaler says:

Would someone kindly explain to me the purpose of attempting to micromanage 300 positions?

Other than draining yourself of what could have been a long and eventful life, of course.

      • Woodshedder says:

Mr. Thaler, honestly, unless they are long-term positions, i.e., he is planning on holding them for many months, I would say there is no way one person effectively manages 300 positions.

One should consider that these 300 positions might be legacy positions, meaning that they were/are probably losing positions that he pared down, and held onto.

It would literally take him several hours a day or more to manually enter and exit hundreds of positions. Lets consider that it takes 30 secs to enter/exit. We would be talking 2.5 hours for 300 positions, and that is assuming absolutely no breaks between orders. It is possible that he has help with entry and exit. What if we added 1 minute per position for daily analysis? Now we are talking 7.5 hours/day, assuming there is high turnover.

All that being said, I’m really curious as to the purpose of having so many positions.

      • The_Real_Hmmmm says:

He only read the first chapter of risk management. Position trading is so much more resourceful. More of a game of seduction than bukkake.

  25. The_Real_Hmmmm says:

Not all of the airlines have been posting better capacities, but I think the majors are squeezing the minors if I recall. I’ve been eying the space via the travel websites. Good ones of the group are EXPE, CTRP, and PCLN. It’s the Gamespot trade of the skies.

  26. bustelo says:

As soon as this pissing match is done in the coffee world (DDRX), GMCR should really take off.

as far as your comment on twitter, Ken Lewis can go suck my cock. Raise your drinks to that.
I know, i know, the news on BAC will propel the market to a fuckin nasty ass bull run; but Mr. Lewis can go now.
