Get Ready for the Revolution

Sunday, June 28, 2009 at 10:14 pm

As Hollywood people drop like flies, a revolution is brewing, like a bullshit 40oz. of Colt 45 malt liquor. A technology revolution, fuckface, not some “I’m mad at the government and I’m not gonna take it any longer” variety. It is coming and it will be gifuckulous.

Just in case you are wondering “WTF is this asshole talking about?” Your  broke ass will have to bribe a “Distinguished Gentleman” of The PPT for scraps of information. In other words, my new investment thesis is for closers only.

As an aside, LG display just surprised to the upside.

Long live 32 inch LCD screens and all the shit that goes with it.

Disclosure: long Corning Incorporated (GLW: 18.88 +2.16%) (now my #1 position by size) and loving it.

    age 50, the new 90

  4. mrkcbill says:

Its kind of sad knowing Devildog Mondays are no more.

How bout a poll……new lows in July?

  5. ALLPROz says:

I miss the pitchfork and medieval torch revolution days…sigh..now we monkeys revolt by e-mail to our political gorillas…which more and more are swinging both ways these days. I still get nightmares picturing Barney “the flamo” Frank pitching or catching his boy toy…ugh, gonna throw chunks….

  6. j says:

    Fly:

What sort of target do you put on GLW? Are you still in the 200% possible you mentioned a week ago for some of the name you hold.

  7. The_Real_Hmmm says:

Telecomm industry ramping worldwide. India, China, US, etc. Networks everywhere are being upgraded. Not to mention their capacity utilization numbers that have held up well through the “recession.” Bribery is for the lazy.

  8. GAY says:

    Couple of suggestions:

    1. Its tough to focus in on the other bloggers pieces of work. It all just blends in and is VERY distracting to look for the time stamp on the most recent post. Please highlight the most recent post of the Fab 6. Do something–maybe tweek the colors or something. I feel when scanning the home page that the webite is throwing up all over the place.

    2. Most people prefer to see the entire page without having to scroll down. Its a pain in the ass and you lose focus. People are more likely to spend LESS time at the site because once they scroll down they feel like they have seen everyting and nothing is worth scrolling back up —and down– up and down—- etc. You dig? Kinda like when Im bangin a dude after I suck him off. –up down—up down.

    More suggestions on the way……..

    GAY

  9. The Fly says:

    GAY

The most recent blog auto updated to the top, you fucking homo. So, if WOOD or DANNY decided to post, their column moves to the top.

I am always several steps ahead of you.

  10. GAY says:

    3. The comment section font is way to small. And, once again, it all justt blends in together and throws up.

Change the fonts, shade the background a different color, make the names pop,

I feel like Im going ot a funeral when I read this site.–dark, ugly, and very AVERAGE.

I hope you didnt pay a lot for this new design. Let me create a templete (for free) and see how much more appealing and inviting it would be to the eyes.

The way its set up now, its like the toilet. When you want to get on and off as fast as possible. Instead of grabbing the paper and hanging out for a while.

  11. GAY says:

That address’s one minor thing. THe other points are still a problem. THe layout is buggin the fuck out. There is too much NOISE.

WAY TOO MUCH NOISE ON THE HOMEPAGE

  12. GAY says:

    One more thing…….

ITs Sunday night and people are gearin up for the week that lies ahead.

    Where the fuck is everyone?

You can hear a pin drop on the new site.

Good luck FLY….You are the man!!!!!!

    RESPECT BK style

  13. The Fly says:

    GAY

    Two things:

I see right through you. You are nothing more than a jealous two bit developer, with a bullshit blog under your management.

The new site design is loved by 99.9% of our readers. Your opinions mean nothing, so fuck off. As for hearing pin drops, the site has never had more traffic. Once again: fuck off, I do not like or need you as a reader.

I like it, end of story. Move on.

  14. The Fly says:

    BTW

Gay is really “Assnapkin Mike” amongst 12 other handles. All of them have been banned.

    Good Day.

  15. Fly, Don’t say I didn’t tell you LPL over AUO …. remember?

Billy Mays must have made a deal at “The Crossroads”

TC … perfect avatar for you: http://splinteredsunrise.files.wordpress.com/2007/12/topcat1.jpg

  16. Goldie says:

Billy Mays told me GLW won’t go past 17.75..

  17. New pilot on HBO, “Hung” about a guy with a big dick trying to market himself on the internets … LOL!

  18. charlie says:

Regarding font size/page size - Firefox allows one to zoom in or out at small intervals via CTRL + Mouse wheel scroll.

  19. MOOBER says:

The best thing about iBC is that it evolves. Design, features, community. Constant improvement and evolution. It’s been fun to watch the growth from the old blogger sites to this (and the PPT).
I would bet a year from now iBC takes another, unexpected, step forward.

The one constant on iBC is the cast of characters and community. What a motley crew. I would wager that the average visitor is both smarter and more experienced in their respective field that some might initially think.

Some of my best friends I’ve never met are on this site.

PS - I really like the video clips. I’ve watched nearly all of them.

  20. dave says:

    All hail Fly.

Listen to some Harry Dent. Is he full of shit or right? You decide.

  21. PoorOkie says:

I love the Video Feature on the home page - and Rukeyser was a rock! I remember watching WSW every week back in the days before cable and CNBC. Good memories.

  22. The Fly says:

    Thanks Boomer

We have like 300 vids up. No way you seen them all

  23. j says:

    Gay is ass napkin.

    That’s funny.

    He also uses other monikers?

    lol.

  24. MOOBER says:

I didn’t realize so many! Just the ones I’ve seen on the main page.

  25. Hawaii Five O says:

    Fly,

Gay may be onto something, although I’m not sure I know what it is!!

I know when it come to updating your home, yard, or almost anything else having to do with style, faggots are way ahead of the rest of us not withstanding a few females.

Why don’t you give Gay a shot? Let him e-mail you some different designs or whatever.

While I like alot of what you’ve done with the site, there is something a little too “left hemisphere” going on here, which undermines the sites irreverent, humorous, and profane nature.

  26. The Fly says:

If some of you are having “centering issues” with site, it shall be fixed soon. Vincenzo dropped an extra large vat of olive oil on a server.

  27. The Fly says:

    J

Yes. He uses at least a dozen.

  28. LCD says:

LG Display Co., the world’s second-largest maker of liquid-crystal displays, rose 2.7 percent to 32,050 won, the highest since April 27. Eugene Investment & Securities Co. rated the stock “buy” with its 12-month share-price estimate of 40,000 won in a report today to initiate coverage of the stock. The second-quarter earnings will post a V-shaped recovery from the first, helped by a rise in shipments and panel prices, as well as lower production costs, the brokerage said.

  29. Braveflaps says:

If you let GAY style your site, the next you know, he will be doing your hair, advising on your choise of vehicle, and begging you to grow a moustache.

In my opinion - although there are exceptions (viz., Tom Seleck) - this never works out very well.

    Not at all.

  30. Braveflaps says:

Also, I am in need of an edit function.

On Sunday nights anyway - amen.

  31. The_Real_Hmmm says:

    Fly,

I noticed the KoPG author name is not currently written on the dedicated block on the front page. I think it was on the old site.

  33. dtrader says:

Has anyone seen this Rolling Stone article on Government Sachs? They really tore them a new asshole. Fucking scathing, suggested reading.
In a trading sense, however, I wonder if this couldn’t accelerate into some kind of pitchfork/outcry, sending stocks into the “danger zone”. My suspicion is it will not; for Rolling Stone readers also enjoy Mary Jane and cold pizzas.

une 29 (Bloomberg) — The Australian and New Zealand dollars fell for the first time in five days after China said its foreign-currency reserve policy won’t change suddenly, boosting demand for the greenback.

The Australian and New Zealand currencies extended declines after Japanese reports showed industrial output rose less than economists expected in May and retail sales declined. The U.S. dollar strengthened against 14 of the 16 major currencies after China’s central bank Governor Zhou Xiaochuan told reporters in Basel, Switzerland, yesterday that the nation’s “foreign exchange reserve policy is always quite stable.”

“There isn’t a realistic alternative to the U.S. dollar at the moment,” said Joseph Capurso, a currency strategist in Sydney at Commonwealth Bank of Australia, the nation’s biggest mortgage lender. The Australian dollar “won’t get below 79 cents this week, with a fair bit of support around the high 78- cent level,” he said.

  35. DPeezy says:

The comments of the sore lousers[sic] on the G&M site (where iBC is once again dominating the competition) have provided for some quality late night entertainment. Not to mention the iBC ambassadors ‘The Emperor’ and Mr. LIMM.

Cronkite reports Wall street is back with a vengeance.

Buoyant capital markets activity underpinned US banks’ second-quarter earnings, with a boom in equity and debt issuance helping offset continued losses on toxic assets, bankers and analysts said.

With two days to go before the end of the quarter and a fortnight before banks begin reporting results, executives said the strong performance in trading and underwriting in the first quarter was exceeded in the three months to June.

The completion of the US government’s stress tests set off a flurry of activity on Wall Street, with financial institutions reaping large fees for helping rivals raise equity to plug capital shortfalls and repay federal aid.

Banks and other financial groups raised $89bn in equity via 92 deals in the second quarter, the highest number of deals on record and the highest dollar volume for a year.

US groups’ second-quarter equity issuance of $259bn was more than three times the $71.3bn raised in the first quarter, according to Dealogic .

A rebound in high-yield bond activity and unusually high margins in fixed income trading also contributed to what one Wall Street executive called a “perfect storm for investment banking businesses”.

“The second quarter has been exceptional,” said one head of capital markets at a US bank. “It’s good to be back and pricing deals.”

Great result fellas. Gold Sack must be creaming it, justifying some predictions that it ought to go back to $250 bucks a share….

hahahahahhahhahahahah that scared some of ya.

anyone want to short GS let me know as I want to be the other side of that trade so I can save the spread. ;-)

Rolling Stone readers sit at home and sweat about their 401k. RS has less rock and roll than Playboy has sex.

americans love to publicly bitch about corruption but in the end they secretly admire, support and buy the stock of the biggest gangster.

Ooh, that one pick (the first alphapbetically, of the three you said you’d start with) looks as joozy as can be right at this moment.

Would that I could squeal it, for the betterment of humanity and those pikers casting votes for us on Canuckistanian web sites.

    Alas and alack, I cannot.

You must be talking about ‘The Internet of Things’. Considered to be one of the top 6 disruptive technologies of the future. Intel is working quietly on 7 trillion nodes and others believe this to has already become a potiential 100 billion dollar market. True story.

  48. TraderCaddy says:

Not good that INTC and chip equipment makers gapped up and have now been drifting lower as the DJIA climbs.

  49. Mr. Cain Thaler says:

Fly - since you seem to have managed to get your tech guy to put down the meatballs for a second, can you PLEASE have him look into why my iphone access suddenly comes up “banned” ever since the site remodel? I know you have been shit-banning auto-refreshers lately but I can’t see how I could have fallen into that category…

  53. j says:

The dollar has continued strengthening today. That will have to be kept in perspective.

Which universe? The dollar has done zipo up to this point.

The number indicating the links to the comments section, a bit obscure. It’s taken a few visits back to the site to remember to click the number. New visitors may not have this amount of patience and just decide you don’t allow comments period.

When visiting the comments section, it drops you to the bottom of the page. Like, so far down I am looking at the footer…??
