I can’t vouch for this as I’m still thinking about it… Spoke to an old timer the other day who was a big time bond trader in London all the way back in the 70’s and 80’s.
His advice in trading and making money during an inflation period is to buy insurance companies which he says took off as a result of inflation during that time. he says it has to do with getting premiums up front and then paying out later. It also has to do with being able to invest in a rising yield curve.
I’m still trying to get my head around this one so any ideas are welcome.
