Can I humbly suggest something here.
Don’t look at Europe and Asia as a guide to the US markets. Not suggesting the US isn’t go to down the gurgler too , but Asia and Europe are falling for different reasons.
Europe is fucked because the slowdown has caused serious tensions in the Euro block where the single currency situation is aggravating the enormous problems they have. The ECB is also structured in a way that ought to mean there is labor market flexibility when in fact the opposite is true.
The ECB’s primary reason for its existence as described in its charter is to act against inflation both present and future and is therefore unable to be as loose as the US fed. The PIGS – Portugal, Italy Greece and Spain require much easier monetary policy than they are seeing and severe currency depreciation.
the end result will be a quasi break up of the EU and depression.
Asia was totally reliant on the US for its growth engine and that basically gone out the window. They will sooner rather than later start reflating, however surprisingly China is still holding back and the Japanese don’t even know the time of day and the dangers they are facing. So if the US goes down it will be going down for other reasons but not because those two regions are.
