Why do you little bitches put cream or sugar in your coffee? What the fuck is wrong with you? Aside from being bitched out, weakened from taking in all the modern day media, when it comes to coffee make a stand, for the love of animal instincts, and drink it black, no milk, no sugar.
Much to my chagrin, standing in line at my local Starbucks, I felt like punching out of the Adam’s apple of the guy in front of me, who ordered a “Grande Latte Machiato” or some shit, with a certain homo’s out tone to his voice. My order, as always, “a large cup of black coffee.” Should that fucker put sugar in my cup, I’d jump over the counter and beat him senseless with a coffee pot.
Just saying.
As for the markets:
I am not making or losing money in this tape, which is annoying. However, if I was not hedged to the upside, I would have gotten my fucking brains splattered all over Wall Street, long FXP, EEV and FAZ. Sometime soon, I am telling you now, the market will turn upside down on its head and “clown dive” to new lows.
If you enjoy the content at iBankCoin, please follow us on Twitter
Fly is God!! Newbie here just following suit with other threads. If I might ask Mr. Fly. Will I ever get out of this Fucking FXP?
Well, the etf is fucked, from a mathematical standpoint. We should band together and file a class action lawsuit.
But, in my opinion, selling short LFC, CHL, CEO and PTR makes lots of sense to me. So, if you are long FXP from $60, that sucks. But, if you can buy some down here, I think there is a ton of upside.
Methinks the end is here. Auto bailout will be met with heavy selling. Ideal setup would be a positive open in which to unload longs and then the fade.
This is a dirty Auto shop!!!! If you don’t know check out my blog punk!!!!

Thanks FLY, I appreciate the advice. I’ll work on it. Oh and keep up the good work, I LMFAO at some of these posts. Not in a criticle way. I learn something from everyone.
I like FXP…DIA puts also on the radar given the number of Dow Stocks looking better for sale right now. The only way out of the funnel IMO is for the Senate to not pass the bailout for auto cos. That would lead to powerful reversal.
Tricky landscape for sure but lots of charts indicating that stocks are at the upper end of their ranges.

Fly,
When you are hedged, how do you gain an advantage? Dont your longs cancel out your shorts? Why not just sit in cash until you see the oppportunity to pounce? Not giving you advice just trying to understand your logic. Very frustrating day today. Certainly feels as if a bid is under the market, yet they cant push the market higher. I wonder if this is just window dressing. POT from $47 to $69 in 4 trading days? Give me a break. The demand for Potash nor the prices hasn’t changed. Started nibbling on a short position today around $69. I suspect $63 before $75 is in the cards.
i see a lot of people complaining about FXP – whats the problem? FXI goes up, FXP as a derivative goes down. FXP goes down 2x it goes down by a lot more than fxi was up. What is exactly fucked with it? Wait until FXI goes to 45 – 50, then you will really feel the pain
Flats:
Well, it depends what sector I am long/short and when I decide to take hedges off.
I guess i could be 100% cash and wait. But, I rather dollar cost average into my shorts, while trading out of longs.
Example:
Today I took nice profits on JPM, KBR longs, while making a little $$ in FAZ. My FXP, SRS positions got murdered. But, my ERX made up for it.
When the time is right, I will sell all of my longs and embrace the downside.
New lows this month. I like cream and sugar.
FXI will never go to $50. Scientifically, it is impossible.

HONG KONG (MarketWatch) — China’s inflation rate eased to 2.4% in November from a year earlier and from 4% in October, its lowest pace in more than a year, according to data released by Thursday by the National Bureau of Statistics Thursday. Analysts had expected a rise of 3%, according the median estimate from a survey by Dow Jones Newswires. Inflation in food prices eased to 5.9% from 8.5% in October while that of non-food prices eased to 0.6% from 1.6% in October. The overall inflation rate was the lowest since a 2.4% rise in July 2007. The Fly is God.
To Buckeye Bob, P/E in Asia is a pretty broken indicator – E is way overestimated in most countries (analysts and consensus still behind the curve). But for what it’s worth, China is around 11, India around 12. Malaysia is the most overpriced, around 16 P/E still and will be crucified by the export/commodity crash. Cheapies are Thailand (no surprise there) with a 6 handle. Singapore is dirt cheap on a P/E ratio too (also around 6) but what are you going to buy there – it’s just banks, property and a few conglos, all of which will see their earnings destroyed in 2009. As for public sources, the FT publishes PE ratios for Asian markets.
Maybe Asia has bottomed, but earnings risk is very high and the concern about the depth of the slowdown will soon transition into worries about duration. At the very least, upside is capped by dismal growth prospects into 2010. Most of them have to export their way out of the recession, and that won’t happen anytime soon. Investors in Asia apparently believe in Santa, but I have no confidence in the sustainability of this rally.
That said, I’d sell FXP on the impending run-up. China alone has a somewhat credible growth story in 2H09 and investor optimism is relatively high. Beijing can and will continue to throw massive fiscal and monetary support to the economy and markets. The rest of Asia can’t match this sort of firepower, so they should be regional outperformers. If China tanks, the rest of Asia will be worse, so funds that allocate to Asia are overweight.
Discovered Illy on our honeymoon in Italy. Instantly addicted.
Discovered French press on vacation in Paris. Temporarily addicted, until I figured out the breakfast service was putting cream in the coffee, rendering it melted coffee-flavored ice cream, which is what triggered the addiction. Fine for vacation, but not “every day.”
Also, the Breville espresso maker and grinder is the shit.
Fly, just give up on FXP already. China has enough money to save all Chinese speaking regions. Besides, all those ultra stuff are terrible for holding long. I got murdered by SRS today.
Slapshot:
Appreciate the info, I will pass the info on to the rest of the Chiefs and especially the Hansen brothers.
On a serious note, starting to look at Bidu, but their on going/ future legal problems present a cloudy picture. I think the Chineses are still working on the rule of law concept.
Fly, Starbucks? that’s a homo drink. Listen to Ants, as somehow the kid stumbled onto some decent coffee. i don’t know how he did, but he did it. Illy is the only fucking coffee to drink. Anything else just just homo stuff or for people that can’t afford a decent cup. Freaking starbucks?
If Fly goes to Starbucks then he’s richer than I thought. Impressive.
Right.
Going to SBUX means you’re rich. Hence, when I am in the shopping mall, I find respite inside SBUX.

Starbucks coffee sucks, it is always burnt. They either over roast the beans, or they scald the coffee while brewing it, or they burn it on the warmer.

i hate SBUX coffee, but i have to admit that the coffee they make with their clover machines is pretty good. problem is they only have a few clovers scattered around the country. there are other, usually niche, coffee shops that have clovers, though.

Talking about serious. Is the Fly’s “going for growth” comments in 09 really have some traction?
The Dollar is breaking, with Euro over 1.31 and even the Aussie is catching some wind about 66 cents. Furthermore the Euro/Yen is at a godly 121.60.
If the stock market is telling us we’re going to see growth, the currency and gold market is too.
Maybe it’s telling us something more though. maybe we’re seeing the first indications by the market that The Fed’s monetary piling on (as well as other CB’s) is starting to work.
Just a thought. If that’s so then TBT is a great buy as of now. It’s quite possibly the best buy ever.
this needs to be watched very carefully especially the gold price as the monetary expansion may be just kicking in and people start to pile into hard assets.
and I agree with you, Ant.
Tim wants civil unions so he can marry a man.
I don’t care what anyone says, but you gotta respect this move in gold and the buck. If it were just generalized dollar weakness the Euro yen and even the Aussie/yen (two big time liquidity markers) wouldn’t be bubbling up like this.
Also BHP would have not recovered from the justifiable trashing it deserved after the Chinese figures yesterday. It in fact recovered.
Maybe the monetary aggregates are starting to kick in. If they do, banks and commodity stocks take off.
This needs to be watched pretty carefully. If that’s the case TBT is the best long that’s ever created by humanity.
Better, j. Stick to something you almost know something about. Mind your manners and stand up as straight as you can.

Lunacy watch
Dec. 11 (Bloomberg) — The European Central Bank said the euro-region economy may start to recover in the second half of next year and Executive Board member Juergen Stark signaled the bank is reluctant to keep cutting interest rates aggressively.
“Global economic weakness and very sluggish domestic demand are seen as persisting in the next few quarters,” the Frankfurt- based central bank said in its monthly bulletin published today. “A subsequent recovery should then gradually take place, supported by the fall in commodity prices and assuming that the external environment improves and the financial tensions weaken.”
The ECB last week delivered the biggest interest-rate cut in its ten-year history, lowering its benchmark by 75 basis points to 2.5 percent to contain fallout from the global financial crisis. Stark said last night that the scope for further reductions is “very limited, potentially allowing for small steps only.”
ECB council member Yves Mersch said last week that rate reductions of 25 basis points are more likely in future, and ECB President Jean-Claude Trichet has said he wants to avoid being “trapped” by rates that are “too low.”
“The ECB is protesting market expectations of further easing,” said Julian Callow, chief European economist at Barclays Capital in London. Still, “given the economic and inflation environment for now, the euro-area economy will need aggressive further easing in monetary policy to enable it to recover.”
Rate-Cut Bets
Investors are betting the ECB will lower rates by a further 50 basis points at its next policy meeting on Jan. 15, Eonia forward contracts show.
The Swiss National Bank today halved its benchmark rate to 0.5 percent and the Bank of Korea cut its key rate by a percentage point to 3 percent. The U.S. Federal Reserve has lowered its benchmark by 3.25 basis points this year to 1 percent.
The ECB forecasts the economy will contract about 0.5 percent next year, which would be the first full-year decline in gross domestic product since 1993.
Oil prices have collapsed to $44 a barrel from a record $147 in July, easing price pressures. The inflation rate fell the most in almost 20 years last month, to 2.1 percent from 3.2 percent in October.
The ECB “has observed increased evidence that inflationary pressures are diminishing further, and, looking forward, inflation rates are expected to be in line with price stability over the policy-relevant horizon,” the ECB said in today’s bulletin, which echoes Trichet’s Dec. 4 policy statement.
Price Stability
The ECB expects inflation to average about 1.4 percent in 2009 and 1.8 percent and 2010. It aims to keep the rate just below 2 percent.
Depending on future oil and commodity price developments, a “faster” drop in inflation rates “cannot be excluded around the middle of next year,” the ECB said. Still, any “sharp fall in HICP inflation should be short-lived and is therefore not relevant from a monetary policy perspective,” it added.
Stark, speaking in Tuebingen, Germany, last night, suggested the ECB won’t necessarily cut rates again next month.
New information needed for a “serious re-assessment of the outlook for price stability will very likely not be available before February or March,” he said. The ECB’s “appropriate” monetary-policy stance “depends exclusively on its assessment of the balance of risks to price stability and nothing else.”
The entire ECB board need to be placed in padded cells.
I suppose when the Euro gets to 1.60 again and the economy is in depression, those idiots will start thinking about lowering rates by 25 basis points and pointing out inflation may be a problem down the road.
Fuck they’re idiots.
Fleck –
“I think 2009 will be a disaster– I have been saying that repeatedly for some time now… I think the mkt will make new lows… I also think we are in the midst of a rally– which I’m not trying to “play”. I think later in 09, the devastation will produce buying opportunities, which I would like to be able to capture… but we may still be in for a period of a lousy economy and markets for years… but at some point, the mkt will be in huge trading range creating opportunities to make money in both directions… NOT just down… ergo my general shift in strategy”
From my retail man on DDS
Heard from a contact that Dillard’s has passed on Spring09 entirely for a large men’s supplier. They have canceled $12 million in orders from that same supplier already this season.
Many accounts are slashing future “inventories”. OTBs are being cut back 15 to 20 % by department. BUT, rather than cut back all suppliers 15%, it may be easier to cut out one completely if it has been performing marginally or does not step up to the plate on “margin assistance”.
Juice:
You know, the one common theme i see in everyone of these VIP trader investment manager types that gets wheeled out for being so good with predictions in the past?
All of them, every single one of them does a devil dog impersonation suggesting we’re going to see new lows in 09. Everyone one of them says the same thing.
odd no?
PG just reduced its organic sales guidance but maintained earning estimates. PG ain’t worth a dime over $50 at best. How the likes of KMB CL CLX CHD PG trade for anything over a 10 multiple + dividend, in this environment, is beyond me.
I’m short that whole group but I’ll probably have to cover on this news, because the idiots that gamble with other peoples retirement funds have probably been waiting for this kind of news to buy those stocks.
I guess, when you’re out of work, you have nothing better to do than to keep cleaning ones, soon to be, foreclosed home.
J – whats so odd about that? I am in total agreement with Fleck. We’re in a rally moment here, that may last to just before Q1 earnings roll in. That will be the end of it.
After that, the DevilsDog & his ilk, will be correct; new lows.
Whats your outlook?
Lets say the ECB dicks are right by a freaking fluke based on the same assumption that a broken clock is right twice a day.
Lets say the economy mends in Eurotrashland by the middle of next year. You can be sure of one thing, if that happens the US is also on the mend because the US is far more flexible than those dicks, so can expect the US to be mending also. Add the monetary expansion into the mix and you have the potential for one huge fucking rally that takes your breath away. it could even be made more parabolic by the fact that you will have so many devildogs shorting into it.
What’s odd is that every big name is calling for new lows next year. Every single one of them.
What’s my outlook?
I think the banks could have an enormous rally and this time next year we could talking about hefty rate hikes as the Fed is taking back a lot of the expansion.
banks are the one industry where margins are huge and staying that way and they getting protection from the nanny state.
I think we’ve seen the lows and I think we could see an enormous rally in banks.
People are underestimating the amount of liquidity going into the world economy.
china’s slowdown is going to be a very V shaped with a fast paced recovery as they have no debt.
I won’t short stocks down here.
Your outlook is why we are rallying here and why we may have much further to go on the upside before its over. But imo, it will be over by April. I expect a drop of at least 50%, off the coming rally highs.
Before this rally is over, there will be many converts to your outlook that the worst has passed and good times are back.
It is at that moment, that we’ll head down, in grinding fashion, for a year or two.
I want to take this rare opportunity to agree with both Dogwood and Jakey-poo at the same time.
Starbucks sucks.
Of course, I hate it not because their coffee sucks, but because they’ve driven all the “real” European-style cafes out of business.
-DT
Possibly, Juice. I’m not suggesting that what these dudes are saying isn’t possible, I’m just highlighting the fact that they’re all adding the “new lows” disclaimer which to me seems to mean that they’re a little embarrassed in sounding bullish which itself is a bullish sign.
DT
Where are all the eurotrash style cafes is the US? I’ve never seen or saw one. The problem with Eurotrash style joints is that like in Australia which went that way you can’t get a standardized coffee. It’s irregular with some stuff that tastes like shit.
That which is timeless is eternal, and in timeless eternity rest the truth and wisdom of Creative strength and omnipotence. The harder a human being strives to approach this truth, the easier it will be for him to live the laws and commandments in the Creative order. The order of all infinite continuity will shine radiantly into man’s life, provided he recognizes and observes the truth of Creation, its laws, and commandments. http://stockcharts.com/charts/gallery.html?$bpspx
We are at levels that have recently preceeded market declines.
But if the SPY busts thru 50dma we could get SPY $111.
Bullish percents are much better at pointing out bottoms than tops. Because tops can just keep churning as (market) price appreciates. Bottoms make a V thats far easier to see/trade.
Really is 50/50 here. Im in cash and ready to jump either way.
.
j,
Used to be some decent cafes in NYC. Now that there’s a Starbucks on every other corner (located between the Gaps and McDonalds) there’s not so many.

j: in new york, i like Cafe Grumpy, Gimme Coffee, and 9th Street Espresso. they’re all “Third Wave Coffee”, aka we’re going to make coffee a science like those fuckers at Napa with wine.
I know the town pretty well: where they, DT? I never saw any in MidTown or the upper eastside where I lived.
———
So
they must have sprung up in the past 5 years or so. Prior to that there wasn’t a Eurotrash coffee place in the town other than starfuckers.

off the lows but still pretty extreme.
bbr
Nespresso machine with capsules – perfect shot every time.
But I dont think you gaytard yanks get that over your way. Though we have to tolerate George Clooney advertising it.
Yanks got the better deal – Ed.
j: yeah, it’s a pretty new phenomenon. you should go get a nice cappuccino at cafe grumpy (or get a latte and they’ll make some “latte art” on it for you).
Longs are fucked
London
I’ve seen that ad. Clooney is so fucking gay it turns me off coffee just seeing it.
He had a really hot gal in tow though.

Weirdest canned coffee ad series with Tommy Lee Jones as an alien or something. (there’s at least 10 of these freaky ads)
I drink GMCR coffee…Decent chart if the rally were to hold 50% of float short. I still think longs are fucked
SLW stepping on geese in pre-market.
________
Dec. 11 (Bloomberg) — The Swiss central bank cut its interest rate to a four-year low of 0.5 percent and said further measures are possible as the economy faces a recession that may be the worst since 1982.
The Swiss National Bank’s Governing Board in Zurich, led by Jean-Pierre Roth, lowered the three-month Libor target by 50 basis points, matching the median of 18 estimates in a Bloomberg survey. The rate for borrowing francs for three months in London was at 1.14 percent yesterday.
DGP anyone?
Fly, dollar down.

This rally is officially over. SKF and FXP are perfect pickups for the next week.
Jake
on the hourly the Euro looks overbought. However on the daily i really looks like it could retest 1.3850 or so.
How to trade it?
Wait for a pull back as you really need to put the stop below 1.30 to be on the safe side. Risk reward it isn’t worth it as I tend to look for 3:1 bet.
So just wait for a pull back or wait for further confo that there is support on the downside.
SRS to 250!!!
j,
I lived in the city for about a decade and they were all over the place. There were a lot down in the village, but my fave was up on 110th and Amsterdam… it was called the Hungarian Pastry Shop or something like that. Not sure if it’s still there.

comign from a family of coffee plantation owners.
1. coffee can be personal, have it the way you want.
2. traditionally, you never let it boil, no sugar, no cream, no nothing.. mixing it wiht cream eventually ruins your kidneys and we all know what sugar does..
mix it with cafeeine and you start to have problems with zerotonine.
3. beware of the asian coffee, they charge 10 times of what it really costs.
4. go to juan valdez, money goes straight to stock holders, wich are 95% small coffe farmers who really do needd the money.
5. buy FAZ, stay hedged.
I am long SKF and just loaded up more at 111… Wow thats all i can say, that labia is going to almost double im sure. I also bought some FAZ at these lows I think it just makes sense.
OOO and dont you love the “foreclosure Report” O my god world foreclosures are down. GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE. The folks to write that shit should be hung by their genitals
Newbie here. Just wanted to thank all for AT LEAST SOME info on FXP. Timed FXP completely wrong (am in at $50). Apparently, no clue what I’m doing.
