PPT is the premium service of iBC, soon to be launched.

The top 10 changes all the time. At the moment, those are the top 10 stocks, to go long, according to The PPT.

However, the service will include advice of myself and others. So, the ranking system is not the whole story, only part of it.

Not a black box. More like a guideline.

I’ll explain more in the coming days.

The PPT ranks every stock publicly traded. It is a guideline, not a get quick rich scheme.

In other words, it will short cut a lot of homework, but will not give you the whole picture.

I use it to identify sectors and indiv securities, searching for criteria that I deem important. After that, I do extensive research into names I like.

You should always dig around into your investments and not rely on one source of data.

    FYI:

    There are three scores [1(lowest)-5(highest)]

    1. Technicals

    2. Fundamentals

    3. Hybrid

The hybrid score is most important, since it is a blend (not 50/50) of both technical and fundamental scores. It balances out the two.

FXP gets a 2.40, due to Friday’s debacle.

    I use it more surgically.

It breaks down stocks into over 200 sub sectors. I will identify the sectors I feel are worth investing in, then identify the strongest in those sectors for starters.

    Pertaining the top 10:

At some point, I may start using the top 10 to make buys.

Before I start chasing performance, I want the market to stabilize. With The PPT service, I will make sure to inform you idiots not to chase performance in a bad tape.

It will be an analytic engine, better than any out there. And, it will be a newsletter from yours truly and other tabbed bloggers.

So, if a stock breaks out, within our formulated criteria, it will rise dramatically in score, which in turn can be identifies in the Hybrid Change cat.

Fly – Make sure Plunge Protection Team isn’t something offensive in swahili!

    1. When Gerber started selling baby food in Africa, they used the same packaging as in the US, with the beautiful baby on the label. Later they learned that in Africa, companies routinely put pictures on the label of what’s inside, since most people can’t read English.

    2. When Parker Pen marketed a ballpoint pen in Mexico, its ads were supposed to have read, “It won’t leak in your pocket and embarrass you.” Instead, the company thought that the word “embarazar” (to impregnate) meant to embarrass, so the ad read: “It won’t leak in your pocket and make you pregnant

    3. In Spain, when Coors Brewing Company put its slogan, “Turn it loose” into Spanish; it was read as “Suffer from diarrhea”.

    4. When Braniff International Airways translated a slogan touting its upholstery, “Fly in leather”, it came out in Spanish as “Fly naked”.

    5. When Pepsi started marketing its products in China a few years back, they translated their slogan, “Pepsi Brings You Back to Life” pretty literally. The slogan in Chinese really meant, “Pepsi Brings Your Ancestors Back from the Grave.”

Nov. 9 (Bloomberg) — China announced a 4 trillion yuan ($586 billion) stimulus plan to spur expansion in the world’s fourth-largest economy, helping sustain global growth as the U.S., Europe and Japan teeter on the brink of recession.

The funds, equivalent to almost a fifth of China’s $3.3 trillion gross domestic product last year, will be used by the end of 2010, the Beijing-based State Council said today on its Web site. China will adopt a “pro-active fiscal policy” and pursue a “moderately loose” monetary policy, it said.

    Fuck me, Really?

On an exchange rate basis the Chinese economy is about 3 trillion dollars.

That would be the equivalent of the US spending a $2.7 trillion stimulus package. that’s a petty big nut.

as importantly they’re going to expand monetary policy.

    Commodity stocks are going higher.

Put that into your PPT and smoke it.

This is going to take some time to make a meaningful impact. If you gave a “stimulus check” to a Chinese man he runs to the bank with it, you give that check to an American and he runs to BBY or MCD. Infrastructure builds will take time. With that being said, I expect a meaningful pop out of the Hang Seng this evening.

As the previously-noted Roubini 11/4 column states:

    http://www.rgemonitor.com/roubini-monitor/254258/the_rising_risk_of_a_hard_landing_in_china_the_two_engines_of_global_growth__us_and_china__are_now_stalling

“the risk of a hard landing in China is sharply rising; a deceleration in the Chinese growth rate to 7% in 2009 – just a notch above a 6% hard landing – is highly likely and an even worse outcome cannot be ruled out at this point. The global economy is already headed towards a global recession as advanced economies are all in a recession and the U.S. contraction is now dramatically accelerating. The first engine of global growth – the U.S. on the consumption side – has now already shut down. The second engine of global growth – China on the production side – is also on its way to stalling. Thus, with the two main engines of global growth now in serious trouble a global hard landing is now almost a certainty. And a hard landing in China will have severe effects on growth in emerging market economies in Asia, Africa and Latin America as Chinese demand for raw materials and intermediate inputs has been a major source of economic growth for emerging markets and commodity exporters. The sharp recent fall in commodity prices and the near collapse of the Baltic Freight index are clear signals that Chinese and global demand for commodities and industrial inputs is sharply falling. Thus, global growth – at market prices – will be close to zero in Q3 of 2008, likely negative in Q4 of 2009 and well into negative territory in 2009. So brace yourself for an ugly and protracted global economic contraction in 2009.”

As the previously-noted Roubini article states:

Who the hell would trade PPT picks….not even FLY apparently.

Most the stocks are so thinly traded. I mean, how hard is it to filter out minimum stock price, volume…basic shit?

After paper trading the PPT stocks given the last month….you would have lost big time. Obviously needs much more tweaking.

So many on this board cannot think for themselves and need a hand to hold on to….translation…you will never be a successful trader. Go back to your “normal” jobs until you have educated yourselves in your trading, translation… learned to lose your ass and live another day.

The PPT will sucker many “buy the top ten list” morons.
    If life was that simple.

Does Fly want “flies with that”?

    DD,
The thing that cracks me up about you is you seem to be a big believer in mother nature and the order of thing – Elliot wave and such. What you apparently fail to recognize is mother nature is not always predictable and can throw an F5 tornado in your direction as well. Keep playing with fire and you will eventually get burned. This much is a fact. Although a little naive, you don’t strike me as dumb enough to contintue to ignore this reality. The sad truth is that I have never seen anyone who trades like you NOT blow themselves up over a 5-year period… but I am sure you are different.

Not sure why I care other than it is perhaps just too painful to watch.

I saw the China bailout post an hour ago. I think FXP is fucked in the interim and so am I as I believe diversification guarantees mediocrity. Really the move on Fri was retarded and much to my chagrin I think Monday will suck balls like a professional.

Anyone know if Proshares actively manages their ETFs? The move would indicate they do, as the Shanghai Composite is 31.6% of its all time and 52 week hi.

    Wrong:

Had you followed the PPT over the last month, you would have made buckets of coin, getting long oil and ag at the lows, like I did.

MOS, NOV and other plays all derived from PPT.

  94. PPT a Scam?

It is easy to pick the winners among the PPT stocks.
If you take all ten picks as recommended through the month, NOT just winners like NOV/MOS, you are out of luck. Of course to be fair, the entire market was a shit hole during this time frame but still…

Serious though, why the extreme low volume stocks? Should they not be weeded out. If this software is extreme filtering for best candidates among the stock universe, why jack with these type of plays? Playing devil’s advocate here. Not try to knock your efforts.

    Who’s picking low volume stocks?

    It is what it is.

I have filters up to weed out low volume stocks, but keep the threshold low. There is no rule anywhere that says: never buy low volume stocks.

Actually, often times, that is exactly where the hidden gems are.

So, just know, The PPT will not go without human advice. If a stock looks weak, I will cast it out. Think of it as a hybrid (machine/human) system.

Here is the present top 10:

    1 DCM 4.1 4.8 4.42 25.93%
    2 CPSI 4.15 4.5 4.31 0%
    3 AFAM 4.35 3.85 4.12 10.16%
    4 HPC 3.9 4 3.95 0%
    5 CBST 4.15 3.6 3.9 7.44%
    6 AAON 3.15 4.7 3.85 13.57%
    7 ORH 2.7 5.1 3.79 3.84%
    8 NTT 3.1 4.6 3.78 22.33%
    9 EBS 4.15 3.3 3.77 25.67%
    10 NFS 4.15 3.3 3.77 47.27%
    11 INT 3.4 4.2 3.76 32.86%

Some of them trade less than 250k per day, but have seen volume spikes, giving them a bump to the top. If you hate low volume, we have screens that can easily filter it out. It’s a non-issue.

In other words, you can create your own top 10 or top 1,000 list, whatever you want. I keep my volume filter liberal, in order to see what the market is valuing.

I don’t trade in a way that puts my entire account at risk if a single “prediction” I made does not work out. As a matter of fact, I rarely trade on margin and have still managed to eek out a 31% gain this year with 6 figure account. Furthermore, my largest drawdown is 6.4%.

You admitted you were leverage more than 2:1 at one point a few weeks ago on a single trade. What advice was it exactly I should heed?
