1.) Short Gold Stocks (It’s a losers long because the two most likely outcomes are bad for gold… depression or deflation)
2.) Get long the ultralong S&P 500
On Tuesday or whenever this rally looks tired
1.) Short REITS (Long Ultrashort SRS)
2.) Short Ryland Homes… because they are raw land pigs who’ll go cash flow negative in 2009… and bump
3.) Short retail if it rallies (long SCC)

But the issues are so complex that I have a hard time understanding the interconnectedness of it all, and I like to think I am an informed person. Boomer- Thanks. He played well today and shot -4 (67), although I was actually more proud of him yesterday. He made the turn at -2 after 9 holes yesterday and then pulled his tee shot into the left deep rough (up to his knees). They found his ball, chipped it out into the fairway, rifled an iron shot and made the putt for a par.
Then he picked the ball up from the hole and realized at that point that the ball didn’t have his marking (same brand and No.). So he called a rules violation on himself and the official said he gets penalized for hitting the wrong ball and for a lost ball.
So he had to rehit from the tee per the official (shot no. 5) and then holed out for a par a second time. That gave him a quad 8 on the par 4 and if it wasn’t for that he would be in top three for sure going into the final round.
Obviously not Wall Street or politician material.
Good on him, TC. You did something right raising your boy.
