Musically speaking I’m sort of curious about these type bands. Do they actually tour? And if so, for how long? Three days a year?
Or do they cart around extra larynxes they’ve harvested from local morgues on the circuit?

I am the only band you should be listening to
Gwar, I played in a band with a founding member of Gwar. We played together for about a year or so here in Richmond and around the region.

I love GWAR. They are king. I have seen them twice here in SLC, UT. I still crack up whenever I think of them killing Bin Laden, Bush, & Mike Tyson with battle axes and throwing their entrails and spraying their blood everywhere. I joke with my friends that underneath the costumes, Gwar is probably a bunch of nerdy looking guys (laughing all the way to the bank). Just like all of us ibankcoin fans, tough names, nedry lives, but profiting none the less.
So what kind of music did you guys play? Now I wonder if you are the one who convinced them to wear costumes and kill puppets on stage.

We played punk bluegrass.
Steve’s story about the costumes was that they had been fucking around a little bit, kind of practicing, in the bottom floor of one of the warehouse like buildings here in Richmond. Sharing some of the space was the Va. Commonwealth Univ. Drama Department. One day, they tried on some of the Drama Dept. costumes, while they practiced, just for fun. Actually, one of the members may have belonged to the dept. Anyway, that is what I remember about the costumes starting.
Asshat, nah, it was just a diversion from tradition.

you should check out the recently defunct meat purveyors, if you haven’t already…..methinks you will like them, and if its any indication of “cool”, mark deutrom, onetime melvins bass player and all around things-that-dont-suck music guy, produced one of their rekkids
