[[CKX]], [[MXC]], [[FPP]], [[QTWW]], [[TMY]], [[LNG]], [[EWST]], [[BDCO]], [[IVAN]], [[ENA]], [[ROYL]] and [[CNR]].While you’re at it, keep a close watch on: [[MPET]], [[FUEL]], [[DNE]], [[END]], [[GGR]], [[AEZ]], [[BMD]], [[URZ]], [[JDO]], [[BCON]], [[OMNI]] and [[GSX]].
If you notice, I only selected energy related turd, thinking speculative “dice rolling money” may find its way to the lowest grade energy stock, with oil near $130.
The bigger picture is much lower equity prices, as a whole, in the near term. So, any gambling done on your behalf should be executed with extreme caution and in very small numbers.

Corn is bouncing off critical support; I would hold out on the ethanol play until you get confirmation on the futures market; that is off course, if you didn’t get in last week.

I am early. Hence, the reason why I am up 20%. However, should corn break from ethanol, the spreads for the ethanol producers will widen—sending stock prices through the roof.

Long IVAN since last fall at average pps of 2.25. Their big deal (allegedly) is HTL process which converts heavy oil to light oil in an environmentaly friendly way. Yet to sign any contracts…supposedly close, which mat be why it’s moving today on good volume.
Two questions seem to haunt this stock: Is HTL the real deal or is it all a bunch of hooey? Is the big guy Robert Friedland the greatest thing to ever happen to Canuck energy, or does he make P.T. Barnum look like a piker?

Flash anecdote — Sitting at the blackjack table with all my brothers (I have many) around 1 am in the morning, when a lone drunk sits down next to me in the left corner seat, declaring he is “Ron Cey, on third base!” I ask him if he’s from Los Angeles, and he looks at me in that confused, almost hurt way that problem drunks do, and says “huh? Naw, I’m from Colorado.”
Anyway, this guy proceeds to order three more “Seven and sevens” (he is quite literally blind drunk already), and then starts throwing $100 chips around like they’re pennies. The fucked thing is, he is winning like crazy, and cackling with delight, which of course pisses off almost everyone at the table.
I finally get out of there, relatively “break even,” and leaving our celebrated third baseman behind with a mound of black chips in front of him…
The next day, we’re in the sports book room waiting for the Preakness to go off when who should enter, but “Ron Cey” himself, with a pack of his friends. He sits down about two seats over and I say — “Hey! Ron Cey! Did you put that DP down on the Vegas condo last night?”
He looks at me like I’m crazy and gives me one of these sheepish “Do I know you?” queries… I said, “Dude, you were sitting next to me pounding me on the back for about an hour last night at the blackjack tables.”
He goes… again, sheepishly… “HERE?”
And I’m like “Yeah! You were banking coin to a ridiculous degree of difficulty all the while in a drunken haze…”
I finally get his embarassed story from one of his friends… He’d wandered off shortly after we’d left, trying to find a bathroom. Upon finishing his business, he never got back to the table (said later he couldn’t find it), and so left the dealer an over one grand “tip” of black chips.
