Comments »BATON ROUGE, LA – The Mall of Louisiana was closed during a busy shopping time and evacuated after a fight broke out between dozens of young people Saturday evening.
EBRSO spokesperson Casey Rayborn-Hicks told WAFB-TV she’s not sure how many people were involved in the actual fight but up to ten people will face criminal charges.
Deputies were called to the food court area around 6 p.m. and said the troublemakers quickly dispersed to other areas of the mall. No injuries were reported though several ambulances were dispatched to the area and initial reports of shots fired were apparently incorrect.
However, at least one eyewitness reported a chaotic and scary scene in the second floor food court.The woman, who asked WAFB-TV not to identify her, said she was in the food court with her young child in his stroller when a large fight erupted and people began jumping over and knocking down tables. She said she grabbed her son and tried frantically to exit.
Unchaperoned young people were brought to a couple of stores where parents were allowed to pick them up.
Traffic was sent out of the area with all lanes headed out and the exits to the mall being closed.

Comments »East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office responded at approximately 6:00 pm to the Mall of Louisiana in reference to a large fight involving juveniles in the food court area of the mall, as well as other areas outside the mall. Reportedly about 200 juveniles dispersed to various areas inside and outside of the mall. The mall is now reportedly closed, and deputies are investigating the incident.

I will not register my weapons should this bill be passed, as I do not believe it is the government’s right to know what I own. Nor do I think it prudent to tell you what I own so that it may be taken from me by a group of people who enjoy armed protection yet decry me having the same a crime. You ma’am have overstepped a line that is not your domain. “The Senate passed legislation meant to end the “fiscal cliff” crisis in the wee hours of the morning. And it seems Hollywood’s rigorous backing of President Barack Obama and his Democrat peers in the waning months of 2012 paid off.
Section 317 of the freshly approved legislation includes an extension for “special expensing rules for certain film and television productions.” Congress first enacted production tax incentives favorable to the domestic entertainment industry in 2004, and extended them in 2008, but the deal was meant to expire in 2011.
The fiscal cliff deal extends the tax incentives through 2013–even as payroll taxes rise on ordinary Americans.
The original tax incentive applied to productions costing less than $15 million to make ($20 million in low-income areas). The 2008 extension applies to all films, up to a deduction of $15 million (or $20 million in low-income areas). The incentive is especially generous to television series; it applies to each TV episode.
Hollywood players routinely beg the government to raise their taxes so they can pay their “fair share.”
Yet the industry moves new productions to places where existing tax breaks help its bottom line. That means plenty of shows and films are shot in states like New Mexico, which feature highly favorable tax rates, as well as destinations north of the border with similar perks….”
