Conspiracy or not we go the way of losing privacy rights.
It’s naive to think you have privacy on the Internet as it is.
At any rate, these threats are real even if they are used to fear monger and further an agenda.
A US satellite was taken over by Chinese hackers on four occasions in 2007-08. Norway just got hit in the gas and oil sectors.
I work in the security field – the game is changing towards monitoring rather than focusing on stopping everything because it is impossible. Laws will likely be abused all in the name of national security.
