An End of an Era: Ditched the Piece of Shit Benz

When I bought my GL450, I thought it’d be a swell car. To be honest, it was an asshole purchase by a person who was an asshole at the time. I liked the car because of how it looked and the cache it possessed. It drove no better than my Lexus, a previous car of mine — but I soon found out it was a GIGANTIC piece of shit that would harangue me for the next 5+ years.

Like averaging down in a bad stock, instead of ditching it and replacing it, I kept repairing it. Last year I had a timing chain issue, which is a ruinous repair for most people; but like an asshole, I undertook the expense of $10k for a car that was worth no more than $20k.

Two days ago, an engine light came on and I decided my time was too valuable for this PIECE OF FUCKING SHIT, so I repaired it again and then traded it in for a Subaru Touring.

Before you turn your nose up at my lesbian-mobile, fully stocked with granola, just know it is merely a placeholder and will be given to my daughter when she graduates from high school at the end of this school year. Thus far, I am quite pleased with the Subaru and can honestly say it drives BETTER than the fucking Benz. As a point in fact, I am a foremost expert in all of the Benz vehicles — since my car is always in repair and the dealership is always lending me new cars. The fucking Subaru drives better than all of them and also has way better technology, so there’s that. Plus, let’s not forget, the cost of owning a Subaru is a rounding error in my great big titted brokerage account.

For the time being, Le Fly is a humble Forester driver — zipping up and down mountain ranges at great speeds, with a mouth filled with organic granola.

Even if you weren’t one before, I’d bet you are now one of those who wears a mask while driving alone.

On a more serious note, I highly recommend Audi. I have two of them and they drive better then anything I’ve ever owned before and I’ve had BMW, Lexus, Acura, and Infiniti and none compare to the Audi. I still have an Infiniti which I am driving today and it feels like iI’m driving a 1976 Ford Pinto.

@Fly is talking about reliability/or lack of it while you pumping the drivability of an Audi.

    WTF?
    Will you be my Daddy?
My first car was a 6 year old Ford Maverick (Yes, they had plaid seats) and I bought it myself with my earnings from 2 jobs working my way through Law School.
I will be a good son (mow your lawn, wash your car, take out the garbage, etc.).
You need to check out an electric car. Once you feel the torque and realize they don’t require any maintenance you won’t go back to an ICE. A bunch of new ones coming out within a year.

Toyota/Lexus > Honda/Acura > Subaru > All other brands sold anywhere in the world.

Buying reliable isn’t about $$ necessarily it is about time and hassle of owning a car that is designed to “wow” you at 0 miles and begin falling apart at 20,000 miles.

Impeccable timing Fly, you know, with all the peaceful riots… I mean protests going on. I would suggest you go for a Tesla if you want mechanical simplicity traded for solid state complexity.

Subarus are so good. Trade in the Forester for a manual WRX and then you’ll feel alive.
