Hey Woodshedder (or Fly) any thoughts on how the PDS would perform in a bear market (anyone remember such a phenomenon?) Will buying the dips hold up as well in that scenario? Just curious…
Skogie, in a true bear market, the PDS will simply stop trading until things improve. For example, it made no trades in Oct. of 2008 and not many at all the following months until March 09, when it started getting heavy long again.
During times of significant weakness, it will be paring back trading. For example, during the Feb. 2010 pullback, it went almost 2 weeks without making any new trades.
It buys only stocks in an uptrend, and so when there are not very many stocks in an uptrend, it doesn’t trade very much. This protects it, most of the time.
Sounds like a good system and one I should check out. Thanks for the explanation.
The iBC Centre for the Performing Arts advertisement is pure hilarity.

Its the best dip-buying system on the interwebs!
Why were so many of those stocks sold twice?
Because they were bought twice 🙂
Some stocks meet the entry criteria on more than one day. Usually this happens if on the first day the stock doesn’t move much, or forms a doji, so nothing changes. Thus, on the following day, it might again be a buy. However, the exit criteria would still be same, no matter on what day it was bought.
Buying USD/CAD at 1.0029 here.
Target at least (1.25-1.0012)*.382 + 1.0012
