So I have been reading up a little on FTK and what to know your thoughts on what EPS you think they are going to hit for this (3Q) and the next (4Q) quarters? The expectation on the street is -.14 without goodwill charges for 3Q.
I am guessing you have to believe that they can eek out a +ve Q this year for the price to hit $10 (This is considering without any fancy accounting). What gives you that confidence given that they have missed expectations for the last 3Q’s (on the downside ofcourse) ?
More questions as I do more reading.

Citi is hosting its 16th Annual Technology Conference today and tomorrow. .., all chip companies that presented were positive, reflecting demand improvement in PC and consumer verticals (expected) but also in industrial and communications (unexpected). Comments made during presentations by ALTR, MCHP, TXN, and SWKS, were echoed by Xilinx and SLAB. We highlight the following one-liners:
AMD — Encouraged by end-demand trends and confident in Q4 gross margin target of 40% (helped by utilization, 45nm mix, better ASP’s). OUR READ: IMPORTANT INDICATOR ON MARGIN PROGRESSION AND RETURN TO PROFITABILITY.
XLNX — July and August orders were strong (August counter seasonal), not dissimilar to competitor Altera. OUR READ: XLNX LIKELY TO BEAT 3Q09 HANDILY.

IDTI — Original outlook expected strength from consumer and PC–now seeing this spread to enterprise and communications, giving the company confidence that the December quarter is trending well. OUR READ: EVIDENCE OF “TRANSFORMATION” OF IDTI JUST STARTING TO EMERGE.
MU — 2H September DRAM contracts up mid-single digits DDR3 and low double digits DDR2–DDR3 spot stabilizing but contract has upside. OUR READ: POSITIVE ASP TREND TO PERSIST THROUGH OCTOBER.
With several more chipmakers yet to present, we expect the positive tone to persist on Thursday. We remain positively inclined on semiconductors, noting that virtually all chipmakers suggested that inventories remain under control. Reiterate SOXX 400 Before 200.

The key will be the reaction to the positive news.
INTC announced pre-market about ten days ago (on a Friday) and it gapped up big, then fell back and hasn’t seen that price since.
Will be ready for SMH long and/ or short depending on reaction.

BERKELEY, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Dynavax Technologies Corporation (Nasdaq:DVAX) today announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has removed the clinical hold for the HEPLISAVTM Investigational New Drug (IND) application in individuals with chronic kidney disease. HEPLISAV is a Phase 3 investigational adult hepatitis B vaccine designed to provide increased, rapid protection with fewer doses than current licensed vaccines.
As a result of the FDA’s decision, Dynavax expects to initiate a Phase 3 trial in chronic kidney disease patients in the near-term. Dynavax also plans to initiate a Phase 3 lot-to-lot consistency trial in adults over 40 years of age in early 2010.
“The success of our scientific approach to resolving the clinical hold on HEPLISAV allows us to resume development of our enhanced hepatitis B vaccine,” commented Dino Dina, M.D., President and Chief Executive Officer of Dynavax. “After achieving strong efficacy data in our prior Phase 3 pivotal trial, we are fully prepared to initiate the final registration trials for HEPLISAV.”
Dynavax’s global strategy as previously discussed with the FDA and the European Medicines Evaluation Agency (EMEA) is to develop HEPLISAV for populations that are less responsive to current licensed vaccines, including adults over 40 years of age, individuals with chronic kidney disease, and others.

DVAX is ridiculously undervalued. Multiple pipeline candidates (e.g., universal flu vax), $56M TTM revenues, $70M market capitalization, P/E @ 10… DVAX should be another OPXA or VVUS on ‘roids today.

Well I test drove an Audi S6 a few years ago, wasn’t a big fan of the clutch, thought the porsche was a lot smoother. Ended up in an AMG Mercedes. Of course I am terrible with a manual transmission even though I drove one for 3 years.
