I’m thinking about taking on another blogger for iBankCoin. There is too much “cricket time” here, particularly during the day. In all fairness to my fucking ingrate partners, who opt to play the clarinet at street fairs, instead of contributing to the site, they have “real jobs” that require punching in a time card and fetching coffee and/or snacks for their female bosses.
Being in charge of the financial blogosphere, for over two years now, I can tell you it’s a tough racket. It’s not garbage man in the snow tough, but mentally taxing—to say the least. In order to dominate, in such a unanimous manner, there are two things that are required.
1. You have to be better than everyone else.
2. You need passion, else it’s time to fuck off and become a full time Twitter-er, if you know what I mean.
This financial website thing is not a game, whether it be about my picks, stories about rogue brokers, my retarded landscapers or my fucked up radios. Like in life, “The Fly” is in this game (blog game, gentlemen) to win.
If you are a competitor of mine (you know damn well who you are), quit before you embarrass yourself further. From what I can see, very few of you have the pizazz or the staying power to command a large audience. You will just sort of prod along, like a fucking paradiddle, banging out 2,000 hits per day.
I ask, what kind of life is that?

Although you are the Picasso of the blogging game, please allow me to offer some ideas for you to think about:
1) Redesign the front page. Jeremy’s done a great job, but you could free up real estate in order to add some content for a fresh intra-day experience. Think investor/trader lifestyle destination, but still true to the iBC brand.
Content features might include:
– Community Twitter feed
– RSS feed from the PPT’s user notes (which entices people to buy the PPT service)
– Realtime quotes from tabbed blogger’s portfolios (easily accomplished via Google Finance)
– Youtube channel embed above the fold. Maybe bring a video blogger to the site?
– Distinguished gentleman’s lifestyle articles (a la Lifestyle’s of the Rich and Famous). See http://www.coolhunting.com/
– Merchandise storefront. BTW – Merch kills when it is done correctly. Killer designs, limited edition t-shirts. See http://www.threadless.com/
– Humor. Asshat award hall of fame, witty polls, etc. Humor is one of the hallmarks of iBC.
2) Kill the ads. It clutters the site and detracts from your brand. Only ads from the PPT or iBC merch, etc allowed. The real estate is more valuable if repurposed.
3) More biscuits and hot hot coffee

I am a newbee member of the PPT. The service seems to provide lots of great content. However, I do not have a computer brain like yourself (peasize perhaps if you were to make an analysis). I have a few questions regarding how to maximize the PPT:
1. Is there a “user manual” of sorts that lists stategies, theories, etc. on how to use the plethora of data supplied by the PPT?
2. I love the PPT tools box which ranks stocks by tech/fundamental strength. However, it seems that many people, including youself, use the toolbox to identify stocks that are below the “buy” trigger (3?) but may be about to execute that trigger. Is this the proper way to use the screen?
As a corrallary, it seems many people aren’t keen to hop onto the uber bullish (4+) stocks. Does an extreme bullish reading portend a reversal?
