The Renaissance Recession

What do you care where I get my stock picks? Last I checked, CA, RC, Alpha , Jake and “The Fly” have been minting coin for you ingrates, at a criminal rate. The blog is all fun and games. However, when it comes to my fucking business, NEVER question my time machine and NEVER talk shit about my platinum market hand.

As for The PPT:

If you are not a subscriber, it makes no sense for me to explain its divine power. Today’s picks alone (CYNO, TWI, SPRD, MTSN, TVL, GMO, CUZ, AXL, HTGC etc) are proof enough that we—at iBC– are much smarter than you.

Let it be known, there is no greater braintrust of market wizardry, than the chosen few at iBankCoin. For those of you who opt to ignore such sage advice, well then, you shall find yourself in the cold.

For the day, I was up a lot.

Fuckers.

I don’t know about you guys but I am kinda digging this recession/depression idea. This gives us a nice re-entry point every few years and it gets us some good values. All this hardship stuff is bullshit, this was pretty easy I think. Look we had a bad year and 3 months then we get back to hyper growth. Like I said I like it. You could just go on a vacation every couple years then come back and bam get back to hyper growth. It rocks!

Fly congrats, you have been dead fucking on. Its just killing the bears here.

masrerpain: the market I am watching says we are done with this recession/depression minor annoyance and we are positioning ourselves for growth. Looking at the charts we are rocketing and bidding for all pullbacks.

Anyone notice the NYC picture actually looks photo shopped? What a waste of money.

Anyone wonder why QID finished dead flat while the Q’s were down .5% and NDX was up 1.5%? What a fucked up deal there.

    Fly,

Please do not like the inept schoolmaarm not knowing what else to do, punishes the entire class rather then deal with the two spitwad throwing ingrates in the back row. The vast majority of us undistinguished gentlepeople, appreciate everything about this blog, most especially your rants, rationale, and stock picks. In fact, just before the close I bought 20k RFMD.

Congrats on your many recent successful picks

Now,if I may offer a suggestion: take the weekend off with pay; go home and spend some quality time with your wife and kids…hug ’em and tell ’em you love ’em.

SPX at the edge of 930 and change, interesting..
CL (crude oil) making new highs, also interesting…
QQQQ i suspect didn’t move up much because everyone was too busy raising capital for financials, but any decisive break below 33.88 would make me unload all my longs, and 35.44/36 is an interesting level to watch — that’s the 10/6/2008 gapdown and a rally above that means the market believes the recession is over.

not being a member of the PPT yet, if someone from the PPT would post here a few PPT picks everyday in the morning and some throughout the day for us to follow, instead of posting them AFTER the fact or after the run is over and after everyone has sold them so we could follow in real time some of the goings on inside and let us see in real time what the PPT members are doing then after I saw real time action and got a sense of what I hear, then I would join also.

plus lots of others would as well, it would be a good marketing extra.

Our timeline splicing appears to be successful in this alternate, (of course, that means that there is another alternate (i.e, “the DEVILDOG alternate”), in which it failed.

The 1978 annealing was necessary although unusual; your government seems to have adjusted well. The rest is up to you.

Fly, be cautious in the use of the illicit time machine. You have filed an application to join the time patrol because of trouble you would encounter.

jake – the mouse cuts both ways..IBC posts “after the fact” PPT buys so the unsubscribers can load on after the PPT-ers are in, (so you PPT holders can sell into) and rightly so…a good strategy that is kinda symbiotic as well…

I joined PPT for 1 month..thinking what they hell I can blow more than $50 bucks at dinner.

I was on the PPT for less than 2 hours and emailed to expand my membership to the full year.

There would be no way to capture the dialog other than participating and if you are like me, you have to learn how to use PPT and keep your day job! It is a fascinating community. Frankly, I think PPT gives too much away out here…I seriously doubt that you all trade enough to make it worth our while to sell out when it is posted live! Very few of the trades on PPT are initiated and sold out in the same day. Eat at home one night so you can try it out for 1 month, otherwise, keep reading for crumbs, it is better than no crumbs at all!

I’m a newbie trader and have subscribed to the PPT from when it started. From reading some of the comments on today’s ibc re FLY I want to add my experience.
The PPT community is a wonderful place. There are many extremely good traders on there. They share their ideas and picks with newbies like myself and are patient with
explaining choices and answering questions. The PPT tool is excellent imo. The Fly developed a great tool and he encourages the PPT community to work together to strengthen the tool which is happening continually. imho The Fly is in no way
a liar or a scammer- rather someone who enjoys the market (most of the time),
is very good at figuring out what stocks may do well (in the midst of chaotic and contradictory news and opinions), and yells during the game outloud on ibc- like many super charged fans do while engaged in following a live sport. His white robe and sandals are probably like other fans who paint their face orange. He’s having a good time.
The PPT community is strong and is getting stronger. Our focus on the threads on our board and on user notes and screen picks is on learning how to make good picks
and how to get better and better at making the best moves we can in the face of a lot of fake news. We don’t spend time dissecting the lies of the banks and govt etc
(there are plenty of other forums for that) as the day is spent in rapid posts of picks and
    routing one another on.
The Fly, RC, CA, Gio, alpha, iwin, plato, and so many others make great picks one after another every day.
In that Jerry McGuire movie he said something like “we live in a cynical, cynical world”.
It’s easy to understand that when something is actually healthy (the PPT community in my experience) and is growing and doing well that people would question it and look at it with skepticism. But so far, and currently, it may be one of the best things going on out there
in terms of actually successfully maneuvering this crazy market. Go figure.

When will the PPT go public? I’d buy shares in it! I’d also probably buy a Fly ETF… a Chart Addict ETF and Rajun ETF would be on fire this week, hell I’d by a Direxion Rajun 3x ETF!!

I’m in the PPT and its great. Among other things, I refresh the user notes section every 10 minutes or so to read up all the comments from the pros to the newbies on all the different tickers. In terms of $$ in to a stock, I’m def on the lower end of the PPT Family, but thats fine with me. If I can make a good percent on the $2500-$3000 I put in to each buy thats fine for me even if Fly (or others) are putting $300-$500k in to those same trades

For those of you that are curious, I can’t believe you wont even drop $50 for 1 month – its what I did to check it out. After my 1 month, I upgraded to a 6 month but will def re up when its time…

o.k. all the responses are good, but it only makes good marketing sense to try to sell a product in real time from nonsubscribers to one day paid subscribers. The only way to do it is to let the non subscribers on occasion see a glimpse of what is trying to be sold. no one buys a car sight unseen and no one buys a car without test driving it first….yeh someone out there can call you up and say “hey man, I have one of those cars and it’s great, just buy it and you’ll like it” but you want to make sure the car totally works for you first.

not that 50.00 is the problem, I would not go one month, I would go one year, but just think it makes marketing sense to post some ( a few ) PPT action points here on occasion in real time as the crowd there is hot on it, no one there will get pissed off, hell they were here first as well.

In fact, I would go so far as to list here everyday one PPT top 10 pick to let the rest here see what the PPT, and it’s members have colletively agreed upon, and randomly post one of those top 10 here….

    That’s all I’m saying.

I am on the verge of joining anyway, but just wanted to get these ideas out there.

The Artist– I understand what you’re saying– but for each day you wait you could
be losing money you’d otherwise make. The community is on a roll. It’s not all about the
PPT tool — people bring in their ideas from all over– we use the PPT as one of many
check points. The value is really in sharing within the community– and being able to track and learn from numerous terrifically successful traders. If you like sharing ideas
and learnings and encouragement (and getting encouraged) and having fun trading in an online community, then
you will definately like it a lot. If you don’t like that kind of interaction and just want to
use the PPT tool I don’t know if you’d be glad you joined. Hope this is helpful.
If you do join, we’ll look forward to sharing ideas! And will be fun to see what avatar you pick
if you keep your name on PPT “the artist” . I was just looking at some art avatars to change my current one. Take care, lindsay

Water ^ is right. I didn’t find any “pick consensus” going on. Members post their picks and may engage in discussion of these picks with others or may not as the case may be.

Members in the PPT seem to have different names than here in the main forum except for the tabbed bloggers. The subscriber is given the tools (very time saving) for research, other members opinions, picks as posted and may even engage them in dialog or just view their comments to others as a means for ideas or furthur research.

There was a spot for specific topics and I’m guessing that any of the tabbed bloggers may post a specific topic there and open discussion may prevail but nothing stock related was happening on my visitation day.

Top/bottom ten stocks/etfs/industries are posted by PPT Score as well as the 10 most watched stocks by members. You can even check a members watch list (if he has anything posted – some have plenty and some have little) if you find a hot hand and need some breastmilk.

All in all, I liked what I saw from a short trial period and no doubt will join soon. Just know this. Nobody is spoon feeding you ideas or drawing consensus opinions. That is your job as it should be. I’m sure if you’re a congenial type that you’ll get to know the new names and eventually be able to connect them with the names out here. No doubt you can get a sense as to who has the hot hand after a short time any way just as it is out here.

Hope that helps and if I’ve forgotten something or misstated the facts I’m sure someone from PPT can give me a slap upside the head and set the record straight.

It is amazing to me how the Obama administration says they represent the common working man, however the truth is they are transferring huge, huge amounts of money from the hard working tax payer to the richest of the rich. They are allowing banks to get tax payer money inexchange for what?? complete shit that’s what. How the masses of people don’t see this is beyond me. We the tax payer are getting fucked.

    Moe:

The banks are trying to move away from government control where they can and in fact the Stress test has resulted in a number of stock and bond issuances to actually remove the taxpayer from their balance sheets totally.

I don’t see where you’re coming from on this issue.

Look, as for the previous support:

Well yea the government did step in. However it’s a socialist banking system and the government basically fucked it up.

Interest rates were allowed to be to too low for too long which caused both a sudden compression in inflation expectations and inflation itself which no one, not even the government, through its various agencies like the Fed etc. predicted.

So to put all the blame on the banks is to suggest they are better at predicting the future and should be 100% right all the time. That’s hardly a realistic expectation is it?

The US loan market is inundated with moral hazard problems making it into one of the most socialist banking system in the western world.

The Community Reinvestment act, Fannie , Fred, Sallie, agency direction to lend to subprime borrowers.

You then have contract enforcement problems where people are allowed to walk away from their homes by returning the key and their debt is unenforceable.

There was a sharp unexpected drop in industrial output in 2007 that simply caught everyone with surprise.

If you want to clean up the banking system in the US I would suggest you remove the subsidies (Fred and Fan), the moral hazard, eliminate Fred, Fan etc. as they simply create distortions and amplify mal-investments and remove political pressure to lend to sub prime minorities.

Geithner is basically working for GS and the other banks – the huge losses should not be entirely shifted to the taxpayers but somebody has to be left holding the bag, no?

    Anon:

Why would you say that? The government would make an absolute mess of such behemoths. The political interference would be enormous. Not only is the government ill-equipped to run these banks, but it would have huge problems as they are internationally based.

You could very well have seen these government owned banks lending to say Chinese or Russian firms that would create all sorts of foreign policy issues.

Nationalization would have been an absolute nightmare.

Furthermore there are extremely efficient bankruptcy laws in the US when left to their own devices with little government interference like the shambles we’ve seen with the car makers.

Bond holders would have simply moved down a notch and owned the equity while the depositors continued to enjoy deposit insurance.

On Oct 10, 2008, there were 2910 stocks that made one-year LOWS.

    On Nov 20, 2008 there were 1894

    On March 6, 2008 there were 728.

You clowns think just because an INDEX makes a new low that means the MARKETS are making a new low. It is a MARKET OF STOCKS, people.

  60. Jake, IAM is highly rated by IBD, but you knew that, no? IBD also highly rates AZZ – everyone wants some AZZ, no? I banked significant, but not an egregious amount of coin last week – so much fell thru my fingers – stuff that I had already sold ripped higher and stuff that I had limit orders for mocked me by jumping far higher.

Anon — I am glad to hear of IAM being highly rated by IBD, but my Jacksonian picks have nothing to do with short term mo-mo stuff. That’s RC and CA’s territory.

I am hoping that both the PPT and to some extent this (iBC) blog are integrative in their recommendations, with short term pops being converted into some longer term “disaster resistant” positions that will not require minute to minute observation, but will instead provide something of an insurance factor while also maintaining a wealth building component.

That said, it would not shock me to see certain PM names showing up on more mo-mo screens in the near future.

I think Fly and the PPT all have value but to be realistic, we’ve been experiencing a massive rally off the lows and a monkey throwing darts at small caps will make money right now. The real test of the PPT and the community will be in flat markets, whether they can find the stock that can rise in a flat sea rather than in today’s environment of all shit rising, and rising fast.

trader y, why would you want to trade in a “flat” market? I don’t quite understand the criticism.

I’m not a short term trader, but I think it’s great that these guys have the skills and the tools to bank mega coin. When I started trading efficient market crap was everywhere, and people would think you were loopy for even TRYING to get an out-sized return. Now it’s a matter of having the temperament, the discipline, and the desire to take money out of the markets. I say more power to them.

Now, with the market rebounding and I am killing it, you want to see how I will do in a flat market.

I get it. Up and down markets are too easy for a man, such as myself. Let’s see what the fucker can do in a flat market. That’ll learn me.

Fly there is no doubt that you rock, and you can trade out of bear market or bull and make money, no doubt. But your PPT community full of newbies who jump on every small cap that is “breaking out” … well, those are a diff story. What about the newbies joining PPT, jumping on every pick, and then getting destroyed when this melt-up is over.

And CA obviously has talent with penny stocks, but so did Tim Sykes and you gave him so much shit and talked about
SEC going after him, etc. Own up to it, if you have an audience, then penny stocks are a fountain of money as your audience pushes up your stocks and thus then enjoy “imminent breakouts”. What’s up with all this “fuck goat” shit, can’t you guys have a conversation about something without all that crap?

    Rocker,
You have no idea what you talk about. Have you had a PPT subscription following Fly and Crew? The penny stocks are just from the last 2 weeks. When the whole world was short and more bearish then a fellow on death row, we went bullish. I started buying (and posting my trades on PPT)SPY and SPY calls and many other S&P stocks at the fucking bottom and shorting SKF at the top. SPY is no penny. No go buy a Tim Sykes T-shirt

It’s not a matter of haters, I’ve been v respectful in my words and have openly acknowledged that CA has talent. But you have to call it how you see it and of course when CA picks something with “imminent breakout” and then RC posts it, and sometimes now even Fly posts it, well of course it’s going to run. These are penny stocks after all. Having said all that, there’s nothing wrong with that as long as you’re early. It’s how the momentum game functions. How do you think Tim Sykes makes all his money? Or that’s how Rev Shark used to trade. I just wish he would acknowledge that.
