Recession? What recession … Where?
Maybe I’m too softhearted but as much as I love the Election Game, I’m not sure I have the heart for the Survivor: Guillotine version of the game. I like learning from others here and the cameraderie with other fellow soldiers battling in a very negative economic environment. No disrespect intended to the Fly and his Election Game of course.
I’m retreating to the Boca Raton Resort Hotel to rethink my strategy for the rest of the campaign, and soak up a little luxury at the new Beach Club. Hope Blackstone BX is keeping a close eye on their investment.

The banks are bailed out with tax payer money. They take that money then lend it to tax payers and charge fees and interest there by making some sort of profit off of the very people who lent them the money. Oh and I almost forgot they also pay their “top talent” bonuses with the money that was given to them. Sounds like a go deal for Joe the taxpayer to me? NOT!
The next time I hear someone spew this fallacy that the tax payers may even make money off these assets, I am going to scream. When on earth has anyone ever remember the tax payer being paid back?? Through what tax cuts? give me a break. If any money is made, which I highly doubt, the government will find some other bullshit program to spend it on, they will not pay down debt.

The Mark to Fantasy, that the fed has allowed the banks to re-mark their books to will cause every banks balance sheet to look GREAT, overnight. So what they are doing is letting the banks basically remark the books back to the original loan amount, which will give everyone a headfake. The only way this will fly, for the banks to do this, they will be having to “sit” on these empty houses until the value of the house returns back to the original amount.
This may take a decade, otherwise the banks, in order to not have actual losses will not be selling these houses but just sitting on them as by sitting on them they will always be able to keep the books marked up to fantasy levels. If they auction these foreclosed homes/condos etc. they will actually have the loss and have to “book” it or “mark” it as a loss. So prepare for long term major fuckery here, and prepare for a decade of lies and an economy just like Japan has had.
The government will always lie to you to get the vote to get going on some sort of stupid shit.
