I actually agree with you. I’m not that bearish on the Us market, more so the others, not US so much. I’m buying some index here on e minis with a good stop.
I get the feeling the shorts are really pushing hard today because of what happened in other markets, but I’m not sure it’s going to be the same in the US. Why is it a big concern to the US if Asia and Europe fall. They should as they fucked.

When I was ‘sensing’ the market yesterday for ‘ today’ its very hard to put into words the wave of emotion you are feeling….I felt a great deal of initial fear, almost panic or a feeling of crisis. But riding along this wave was the feeling that if we will remain calm, not panic, keep a clear mind, this ‘mind fear’ will pass and we will be able to act and master the situation.

XOM is the exception. They plan long term. They don’t layoff during these times. They have the cash flow and money in the bank to buy assets cheap. They take advantage of low price environments by hiring engineers that get turfed from other places and come cheap. I don’t work for them, but anyone who invests longer term realizes that they are a fantastic place to sink some coin. Just like NDM (TSE) and NUS (TSE) are the future of mining.
I like DUG as an aggregate, because I think oil prices are in for a 5 month collapse (with little rallies in there). But to short Exxon directly is different than shorting their fearful competition (who underinvest during low price environments).
Exxon’s policy has always been to give the finger to the market and do whatever they want.
