Friday’s Menu

I’m at the point again where I need to book gains on a few things in order to take the next round of positions I want. At the moment, I am visually undressing and mentally caressing the following charts…

UNXL, HLF, MPEL, ANGI, DE and LNKD.

That’s pretty much the extent of my watchlist for next week. If the market enters into a “grind mode” here, we’ll be able to sell into individual breakouts for the next couple weeks.

In terms of making room for new positions, I am contemplating taking off NVLX, KUTV, CIMT…maybe SOHU now for a re-entry in a week or two.

I’ll start making moves after the mid-day lull.

The FSLR miss is now only a distant memory, pointed like a middle finger towards the hecklers that roam the hallowed halls of this site. I am now back to a 50% return in this name, which is still my biggest stock position. 15% in two days should tell you a lot about why I like this stock this year.

Speaking of earnings, my healthy sized position in DANG has reminded me that 5-10% losses in stock positions are manageable when you happen to catch a 32% return now and again. if you count today’s move in NVLX, 30% moves are no stranger to us.

Until I claw my way back to breakeven in GRPN, I will not soon forget the turbulence of this earnings season. However, I am now back and heavy in the column of winship on the year, thankful for the lessons learned about why trading is only for those who lack a soul, and how difficult it all becomes when you let a little emotion and doubt creep in. When times get tough, keep the noise limited and always focus on your strengths.

Better late than never, but my March Madness entry of -Short VEND- is in the midst of a rug pull here. Millions of unsuspecting buyers of “a great trending stock” are falling victim to the massive sell order, courtesy of “Paulie” and “Vinny.”

Never count me out.

I just took down March calls in VJET and a stock position in GERN. We’ve got several good trades on here, where prices targets are near fulfillment.

I feel like I’m in rhythm again. The stock positions have been stellar lately, and my options are picking back up. Even I, occasionally, need a gentle market reminder that there are always things beyond my control that cannot be planned for.

When confidence is shaken, it is critical to get back to your roots. Last night I spent a little time focusing on some of the set-ups we’ve nailed in AHOWA lately. Despite the fact that I didn’t pull the trigger on many of them, it helped me in a way to get back to focusing on the methods, which I am always confident in.

SPWR, MPEL, MJNA/PHOT and BAC on my radar this afternoon, FWIW.

I booked gains in KNDI today, and bought March Calls in NOV.

I took stock positions in PLUG and GNVC, and I am watching AAPL and GERN here.
