I took a piece of $PLNT here. I like going after newer issues about this long after they come public.
Stock is coiled up pretty good here.

Like the look of BKFS as well.
Lets see how the market treats these levels…this is my high target on the NQ. If we smash through 4500 I will change my bias but until then this is a great risk reward short.
Pain trade tomorrow another gap up? I think the market has conditioned peoplefor chop or intraday fades and rally – time to make the day traders suffer?
why gap up? Volume today indicates people chased this rally and are now stuck at higher prices. Don’t you think pain trade would be gap down?
Over the last 2 weeks, folks have been conditions to BTD. If they did, they may be trapped now.
You got shorts engaged on this fade, again. I’m hearing guys stop out of stuff complaining how weak the market is.
interesting. good to know
I took my first profit today from past few weeks of buying. People around me trying to raise cash too. Pain trade is definitely up.
to that point, I did close out my SPY calls (at profit) in the morning and now my FXI calls (tiny tiny profit) to not have too much exposure for a gap down. Therefore, gap up would seem about right.
I’m getting emails from guys that got out yesterday wanting back in. I was right about yesterdays course of action.
risk lagging.
Dow and S&P outpacing nasdaq and russel today.
how perfect would it be if we topped on QE news.
Is oil a leader or a laggard at the moment? It led down so have things changed?
CL was glad you asked that.
I really feel like I’m leaving a lot of money on the table not fading moves up. There’s gotta be someone somewhere making serious bank buying at the end of the day and shorting after the open.
Tough game to play though and it won’t last forever. The amount of skittishness in the market in general makes me think the big caps will continue to outperform until the end of the year and we won’t get a crazy run up. I’m basing this off how all of my trades have performed since the bottom. I have made money far more easily in big caps than small caps. I think small caps lagged for like a year after the 1998 bottom and we could be in the same period again.
Still thinking this through. I know where Jeff stands on this.
That’s how it went in 98, fwiw.
yeah. 98 was weird, though, because if you look at the biggest winners like YHOO MSFT QCOM CMGI JDSU etc all of those ripped like mofos after the October 1998 bottom. So they outperformed coming out. Right now the biggest cap tech stocks have outperformed but those are megacaps.
FANG is doing pretty well.
Anyone expecting new highs in AAPL by next week?
Whoa! New highs?
I kind of expect AAPL to roll over tomorrow to ~113 after an initial surge to 116.
short NQ 4485.5
You just might wake up to a large gap n go…N
FB – if it takes out $100, we could see some crazy stuff here in the last hour. Another failed auctions would be “less than ideal”
GILLLDDDDDDD
Double blow up today! Wham bam with the 10% ABBV who hit the fat finger?
Gild up huge; 5%+. VRX way off the lows; ONCE, which had its great numbers faded, is back near $60… a lot of damage appears to be healing… LABU blast off finally?
Looks like GILD up because of bad Abbvie news wrt their competing drug.
LABU a different animal. several stocks in XBI down 5%+ still
Yup
Looks like market is sorting the momentum names by those that are profitable, reasonably valued and those that aren’t…. modified flight to quality with higher beta
agree. there’s clearly a division in names that are getting bought. IWM lagging as a result. Need the chase mode to get started for money to pour into these momo names
Question is when to sell FB. 105? 110? Where do you see target for short time?
never. just stash it away for 10 years. not kidding either
